I'm in Santa Monica and didn't feel a thing....
Fun fact, the possibility of a MAJOR earthquake here in So Ca. is overdue so I have for decades now been a BIG time prepper..
My family used to laugh that I was a bit eccentric and overdoing it, their NOT laughing now....
Since I've given up all hope, I feel much better

There was a 4.6 or so close to San Felipe a couple days ago. A big one would be the icing on the cake for So Cal and Mexico right now.

I'm surprised that it was that big. I felt just a gentle shake for a couple of seconds in Desrt Hot Springs. At first I thought it was the @#$%! wind
again.

A loud noise sorta like an oncoming train and then BOOM, the house rocked and swayed fairly hard. We live in Warner Springs about 20 miles as the
crow flies from the epicenter.

A 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit Southern California on Friday
No damage or injuries were reported.
It happened in one of the most seismically active places in the region, said a prominent expert
Inland Southern California was hit by an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.9 on Friday evening.
No damage or injuries have been reported so far.
The quake struck just after 6:53 p.m. and was centered near Anza in a remote desert area of Riverside County, southeast of Los Angeles.
It was felt up to 100 miles from the epicenter, according to a U.S. Geological Survey website, and was followed by several aftershocks. Several were
larger than magnitude-3.0 and included a magnitude-3.7 temblor.
“It's a common place to have it, not a surprise," said seismologist Lucy Jones, head of the Lucy Jones Center for Science and Society and a visiting
research associate at the California Institute of Technology.
"It's one of the most (seismically) active places in Southern California," Jones told KNBC-TV. “You've had multiple magnitude 4s and even some 5s
coming through there over the last 20 years."
One Anza resident told KNBC-TV that the quake was noisy but caused no damage.
“There was a jolt and a rumbling, almost like a train coming through," she said. “It was very loud. All of my animals scattered."

4.9 magnitude earthquake near Anza felt around Southern California
By ROBERT GUNDRAN | rgundran@scng.com |
PUBLISHED: April 3, 2020 at 7:27 p.m. | UPDATED: April 4, 2020 at 7:55 a.m.
A magnitude 4.9 earthquake followed by a series of aftershocks hit just southeast of Anza and near Palm Springs on Friday evening.
The initial quake happened at 6:53 p.m., roughly 11 miles southeast of Anza, 23 miles southwest of Palm Springs and 16 miles southwest of La Quinta,
the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The jolt was followed by seven other earthquakes over the next 15 minutes, with magnitudes between 3.7to 2.5, according to the USGS.
There were no reports of damage or injuries as of 7:25 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Robyn Flores said.
The 4.9 temblor had a depth of 6.6 miles.
The strong quake, in the area of the San Jacinto fault, was also felt in parts of Orange, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and San Diego counties,
according to the USGS.
“The San Jacinto Fault, which had the (earthquake) this evening, is the most active fault in California. It has more small earthquakes every year
than others,” Julian Lozos, an assistant professor of geology at Cal State Northridge, tweeted.

There was a 6.5 in central Idaho Tuesday. Reported that it did not affect Yellowstone's seismic region. If Yellowstone's underlying supervolcano
ever blew, would cause worldwide destruction, spewing ash for thousands of miles.

Just a little bit of Bump
Well, two separate little series of bumps felt in Poppet Flats (10 mi south of Banning) @6:53. Almost nothing.
BUT, to placate mi esposa, I had to watch the 7 p.m. L.A. (crap) news for awhile. Something I avoid as much as possible.

Felt it last night. Others in the room didn't notice until I mentioned it and they looked up to see the ceiling fans rocking. Del Mar Heights Rd
& I-5. Just a blip, but moved the walls a smidgen.

We felt it our place. We were sitting on upstairs patio deck watching the sunset with our sick cat. He was sleeping peacefully and suddenly lifted his
head went on alert and two clicks later the house shook. It was interesting. Earthquakes are exciting in a strange way. I was 13 and living in San
Gabriel valley when the Sylmar quake hit and it started a fascination with geology and the earths forces that has never waned.
