Starting to plan out a camping trip in early May; Where to go?

Gonna rent a toy hauler. There is a place here in LA that still has the lights on. Thinking Northern Arizona. Find some wide open spaces.

All the BLM stuff in Utah is closed, or I'd go there.

Any input on places to head to? Heard the app BoonDocking is good for finding spots, but it's IOS only.

I hear that in Switzerland that is exactly what people are doing. The family jumps in the car and drives around to empty spaces.

Come visit La Bocana

Stay home, jizzy.
You are germ carrying vermin, no communities want you right now...
Your brown shirt uniforms and letters from der fuhrer are not a license for you to spread the plague...
From what I am seeing many BLM and Nat Forests lands are closed to all, and brown shirts and letters do not exempt any from closure...

Woke!

You know JZ, if it is okay for you it is okay for everyone. Why do you feel entitled to go where you want while others stay put to prevent disease spread? I would love nothing more than to enjoy the solitude nature has to offer at this moment in time. But, IMHO, it would be selfish and irresponsible. The point of all of this is to stay home to prevent disease spread. So, as they, Stay the Flock Home.

Utah. By May the police state restrictions will hopefully be lifted. Around Escalante there is plenty of BLM land with free camping.

Yea JZ bend your knee to the government that will tell you how to think and act for your own good. Because you know that the people who make up rules, like, you can only go out if you cram yourself in an enclosed environment with others (and wear a mask to shield you against harm) aka 'the store'.

Think folks; if you need 6ft from others to protect you, then you need 144 sq. ft. (6ft from all sides of you = 12 x 12) and then take the square footage of the space the stuff the store stocks away from the total square footage leaving what is the square footage of actual open space and divide that by 144 square feet...it doesn't actually leave space on all sides of each individual that we are told to maintain in the average store.

I spoke to a manager of Walmart this morning about this and he never mentioned the space stock takes up when he told me the amount of people they can allow in their store at any time based on the 'total square footage of the store footprint'.

Now lets talk about how many people can fit on BLM land or other venues where people would wish to go outdoors...Like the ocean for me. For some of us visiting Walmart is just not how we practice FREEDOM.

Nothing personal, I respect your beliefs even though I think they're kooky.

Don't believe a word you've written. I know where you got that misinformation.

It appears you believe in the government and stuff printed in the media and reported on tv.

I think it's hooey. People in Michigan are rebelling and demonstrating and they're armed? 7 states don't have lockdown.

This might be a good time to visit a gun shop and stock up? Still have some old .9mm Hydra-Shok's that can get the job done.

Cuidado.

US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.

What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

Agreed.

Not a Trump fan. But one good thing he could do under his control is open up the National Park System by May 1st. Putting in whatever necessary precautions, e.g. having visitor centers remained closed, etc.

Well said bajamama. The social distancing rebels are cut from the same cloth as climate change deniers.

Of course, it would help population control if some of the social distancing deniers were to die from lack of social distancing,... and improvement of the human gene pool would be one benefit!

Open the trailheads too! I got a reservation for a backpacking trip into the Golden Trout Wilderness at the end of June. The goldies are waiting for me.

And what lunacy prompts people carry assault rifles to a protest march in the city? WTF?

And here are more protesters:
