Painting the elementary school in La Bocana photos 2/14/21

As you come into La Bocana, one of the 1st buildings you see is the elementary school. And what a mess the buildings are...it drove me nuts every
time I went by, so I asked the janitor if he would paint if I donated paint. YES. Then I called the principal and asked if it was OK, YES. Then I
asked a friend to split the cost with me and I asked Les to buy some one day when he went to Vizcaino.

I delivered the paint!

And the painting has finally begun!!! They started with blue-green.

I think that all students should be PROUD of their school. It was looking so dilapidated and looking oh so pretty now. Wait til the next color
comes ... I had to use what the principal wanted and she said happy colors mean happy students. I love the colors!

Another part done. That lower wall is right at the entrance to the school.

I guess they are using up all the blue green color first - the second color is a beautiful hue of purple. I will keep checking back!

Beautiful! Definitely cheerful colors.

The janitor turned painter is so proud of his work! The school is looking so much nicer.

I had to push the high school to repaint many years ago - thank goodness they have kept it up since then.

After weeks of waiting for Jaime to give me some signal that he would continue the painting, he came over! He needed paint brushes to continue so I
gave him some cash to buy a new brush.

The next day, he shared some photos of the walls he had done and said that we would need just a bit more to finish up. Paint had to come from Santa
Rosalia where his friend kindly bought us some.

And I believe the whole school will have been painted today! I am so happy. It was looking quite awful and I want kids to have pride in their school
even though there are no classes there due to the pandemonium (as my Mom calls it!).

More pics later!

Went by the school today to see the new color and boy, it is really colorful!

I am so happy that this was done. I know there are no classes being held now, but this is one of the very first buildings one sees as they enter our
village and it was an eyesore! Look how pretty it is now!
