whales shortstopping?
Interesting report here. apparently the theory is warm weather/ water and record anchovies are keeping the whales off California, instead of heading
for Sharis place?

Commercial crabbing has been postponed in CA because many whales are still off shore.

They aren't short-stopping.....they are just staying on second base until they have a good run opportunity....
(yeah, I know whales don't "run" ..... but you get the joke anyways....)
Don't believe everything you think....

I doubt these are gray whales as they dont eat anchovies....probably humpbacks and they go where the best eats are.
On another note, I heard a report from northern california that possibly migrating Gray whales have been spotted which would be good news for whale
watchers in Baja.
The last couple years the migration has been at least 2-3 weeks later so the season s they had to go further afield to search for new food sources so
the whale season didnt get started till later in January than usual.

A few spotted today near Catalina island, San Diego and Redondo Beach.
Get ready: Here they come!

The delay in the crab season is due to Humpback's, not Gray's.

Newport and Monterey aren't really seeing Gray's yet, tons of Humpbacks though.

What does this mean for the whale season near you Shari? I'm aiming to be bringing a group through again the third week if Feb. I hope the stars and
whale babies align!
I like to explore remote dirt tracks and beaches.
