Sad Update on Necho

Jan 25 2021
Our dear amigo Necho is in need of blood transfusion.
Full Name: "NECHO" ANDRES RUIZ WILKES
He has worked in the San Lucas office of the Port Captain for decades.
He cut his hand and developed a serious infection.
He had surgery today and is in the ICU at ISSSTE Hospital La Paz
A negative or O negative blood will save his life.
Please.
Prayers also requested and much appreciated.

Edit with full name - thank you Blanca

Good evening, apologies for the delay in update and responding.
Sadly they had to amputate both legs.
His first request out of the ICU was for a cup of coffee.
He is such a kind and gentle gentleman.
Don't know if he knows yet. The irony is that he always asked us to bring him pants whenever we made a trip NOB.
Saying prayers for strength and recuperation.
advrider thank you for asking, his sister has an account, but at this time I don't know if financial donations are needed. Bless you for asking.
Kind regards to all, L

It was a touching ceremony.
Necho's ashes spread by his sister.
Roses were tossed and boat horns blasted, music played, applause. Video with sound on our Instagram page.
Wishing all good health. L&T

Wow. He lost his life due to an infection from a cut. He must've had gangrene to lose his legs. Really sad.

I cut the palm of my hand once, replacing broken floor tiles under a toilet. It was more of a scratch, and did not even bleed, so I kept working until the job was done before cleaning up.

Later that evening, the swelling and pain was so intense that a trip to the emergency room was all that saved me from much more serious consequences!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

My son had a rapala treble hook go through his had and out the other side. After I removed it he wanted to go on fishing. He just washed it with sea water. Nothing came of it. No swelling. Not even that much pain after it was out.

Photo

The day Necho's ashes were spread, there were many whales in our waters.

This photo capture feels particularly poignant.

Thank you DK and SJ and Terry and AK and Blanca and all for your thoughts.
