This is my baby "Cuervito".
And 3 years later, he still thinks he's a puppy:

Another photo of "Mojave", this time exiting an an arroyo near Rancho Alamar in the Sierra de Juárez.
This is "Tajo" at his namesake Cañón El Tajo.

JZ,
My friend, a gringa, actually owns him. We had him for many years at a ranch in the Sierra de Juárez. Now he is enjoying semi-retirement at a ranch
near La Misión where the winter season is much milder.

That's cool. Do you get to ride them down there? I don't think I've ridden a horse since I was like 11.

Yes, in the wilderness and ranches of the Sierra de Juárez, desert canyons, and in the coastal canyon areas. Always an adventure!
If you want more info about riding, I know of a few quality outfitters who guide north of Ensenada. There are less formal small group rides at the
mountain ranches.
Perhaps after one or two shorter rides, you'd be interested in participating in a "cabalgata".
There is a "cabalgata" (group ride event) circuit in northern BC. Various ranches host events throughout the year. The day of horseback riding is
often followed with a barbecue and fiesta. People trailer their horses to the events. There are usually 30 to 100+ riders. There are sometimes horses
for rent, by prior arrangement.

Trailering horses, 4WD to Rancho Alamar (east of Laguna Hanson/Parque Nacional) for a cabalgata event.

Testing the waters with this before and after photo of my "Machito" mule. If I've uploaded this correctly, watch out, this is a thread I can really
get into.
