My heart is broken

You might remember our scholarship student Javier. He was my student in middle school, he was in our scholarship program, graduated in engineering
and got a job right away. He did not come to the 2020 summer gathering because he was working in La Paz.

He passed away yesterday. My heart is broken. Covid has hit La Bocana like a tidal wave.

Javier and I in 2019

Javier on the right, on the day he found out he was accepted into college.

Here he is working in La Paz - a job he was so enjoying.

I am going to miss this kid! He was a one of a kind guy, a good friend to all his buddies. He could have been a poster boy for the scholarship
project! He hit all the goals and more.

La Bocana grieves. I grieve.

Very sorry to hear that. He was too young.

So sad to lose a young man that had done everything right on his way to becoming an honorable, productive member of society!

Blanca, is the tidal wave that you say has hit La Bocana a local outbreak of the virus, or loss of community family members living elsewhere?

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

La Bocana is being hit by corona. Many old and young are sick.

My neighbor's cousin had 3 kids in the hospital with covid. One died today.

Thank you all of you for your words of condolences. It really does help. I have to pretend to be OK for my granddaughter but if I could just take a
break from Life right now. I would. I feel as if a vital part of my soul is missing. I sometimes am more involved with the kids than their own
parents since none of them have gone to college...it is up to me to help the college students work thru issues. Javier was one of the easy ones.

The irony is that I got mad at the parents, really mad, when they insisted Javier return from La Paz to visit them for xmas a year ago. I thought
THEY might die. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it might be Javier.

Thanks again.

DEP. My condolences to you and Javier's family. I did not think that the covid was so prevalent in your town. I was going to visit last week but
instead just went as far as Sn Quintin and stayed pretty much isolated. What vaccine did he receive? What vaccine is being administered in La
Bocana. I heard that it was bad in Cabo so I declined a visit there. Most of the people that I spoke to in Sn Quintin were vaccinated. Some with
the Pfizer.

That really sucks.

There are people in Asuncion who have been ridiculing the vaccination effort. I hope they read this. We're not that far away.
