Neat shot...I have no idea where it is! Wouldn't that be considered a "cinder cone" rather than a lava spewing volcano?

What a perfect view of the top of a volcano.

Come visit La Bocana

Never knew this was there. On our next trip, we are going to be in this area, worth checking out if the roads cooperate. Here is some more info that I found:

closest road to the volcano is 5 miles away

good hiking trail (Camino Real) starts at Rancho Las Paredes
or Rancho Casas Viejas

while you are at it you could check out the Basalt cave nearby
26° 1'16.17"N, 111°50'47.20"W

There are a bunch of conical volcanoes in that area. If you are looking for a fun challenge, camp at the top of this driveable hill -- El Pabellon at GPS: 26.0993, -111.8946 -- and look out over the surrounding sea of volcanoes.
