StarLink Issue
If your power goes off overnight your StarLink unit will reset to default and need to have it’s network name and password reentered.
Other than that it worked fine throughout the storm.

It should not reset. Unless your power were to flicker off/on a few times as the reset procedure for the Starlink router is to quickly turn off/on
three times.

Yes, I know that inverter should shut down clean and stay off until the batteries recharge.

nope...
we have removed the power from the starlink and it booted right up with restored power
we never needed the phone
if you are running out of battery power over night you need MORE batteries

My StarLink was flawless through Kay. We lost power and went with a UPS for a short while, then a Generator that was surging and dropping power then
would come back; over and over. Starlink never failed to come back. I set it up once and have never had to reset it or had it reset itself after 30
power drops in a day. I had 140mbps through Kay and the days afterwards when nobody in LA Bay had internet.

if you buy the starlink RV package here in mexico can you get service traveling into the u.s. or even canada?
there's only two things in life but I forget what they are........

Starlink RV mode is limited to 30 days. After that they probably will tell you you need to change your registered location. That limitation is bad for
folks that live half time in Baja an the other half in the states.

I've had mine over 30 days and there is no such request.

Starlink has been absolutely critical during this last hurricane. Here in the remote areas we still have no cell or phone service and for an example a
wonderful family in La Bocana have lent their Starlink system to the local fishing cooperative so everyone can use it to get messages out to their
families.
When we were stuck at a road washout for 3 days, this same couple set up the Starlink and people were able to get messages out to families worried
about them etc.

Starlink now offering larger dish that features double speed capability to its faster internet speeds. Same speed that is used for commercial users.
Customers who wish to acquire Starlink’s high-performance satellite internet kit would still be paying $2,500 for the hardware, they only need to
pay the standard $110 per month for the service itself. Residential customers who opt in for a high-performance dish could then get more out of
Starlink’s capabilities for the same monthly fee.

I don't know why anybody would need faster? I'm avereging 150 to 200 down and 10 to 25 up. Thats fast in my neck of the woods! |
