"Paranoia strikes deep, into your heart it will creep"

Steven Stills penned those lyrics in the 60s, long before it was possible to track everybody, every day. Imagine how paranoid he must be today!

Wells Fargo sent me a message yesterday stating that I no longer have to have to notify them before I travel with my W.F. card. How did they know I was packing up for a Baja run?

I don't do Facebook or Twitter, so they must be tracking me on this forum!

Ok, I know it was just coincidence, and this is just another lame attempt at humor. I thought that this might be useful information for other W.F. users and wondered if other banks might be dropping the requirement to notify them when a card is going to be used abroad.

I have not heard from my BoA debit about it, nor Chase credit, which I usually use.

On the other hand, be assured, they are tracking you.

How many times has WF signed you up for accounts you never intended to be a part of?

Sorry, I digress.

Certain powers have access to everything about our lives. And they use it to their advantage whenever they can.

Social media will never be controlled. All we can do is try to limit our exposure. I seriously doubt that is even possible these days.

Any imagined privacy remaining is just that. Imaginary.

When I go south, I always let my bank know in case I need to use their card. Same for cell phone usage.

You with WF have it even easier than most of us, but at what cost? I suppose any privacy left is imaginary. Rant over.

Thanks to all here for their love of Baja in whatever ways each of us express it. For the most part. haha

Count yourself as one of the fortunate ones. Whatever you've been doing has worked.

I wonder what WF found to do what they did to some of their unfortunate customers?

They have to have cleaned up their act after all the bad news they brought on.

Greed is not good. [referencing Wall Street, the movie]

I have both debit and credit cards with Wells Fargo, because they were the only bank that had branches in both Anchorage AK, and Grass Valley CA.

I have had accounts opened by them and have had service charges applied for service that I did not ask for, but in all cases a talk with a branch manager got them reversed.

I also have an Alaska Airlines credit card (Bank of America), and a debit card linked to my Edward Jones money market fund (BNY Mellon). I don't think that "New security programs" will eliminate the need to let them know I am traveling, but I will find out on Monday when I can talk to someone.
