Mexican Health Certificate for Dog to Travel on Mainland

Is a mexican health certificate filed out by a Vet still required for a dog to enter mainland Mexico?

My understanding is that it is no longer needed unless you are bringing your dog into Mexico by airline. I will look for the information my vet gave me when I headed for Baja, I don't think it is different for mainland travel.

I strongly recommend that you at least bring your dog's proof of vaccinations!
