Cabañas at la Bocana
I read on BD that they were all knocked off their foundations and scattered about.

I hope not. I've been worried about La Bocana due to the way the storm tracked and how they fared, many good people there & my favorite place to
eat in all of Baja (Chunky's). I'll try to get in touch with contacts there & get more info.

What it shows are about 8-11 structures, some with damage, none off their foundations. If there were more next to those four that are together, then
they are gone. I guess if we can see how many were lined up together, before the wind, we can tell if some were lost totally. It wouldn't surprise me,
it was Cat 3 or 4 when it hit there!

La Bocana is a complete mess. I dont think any cabanya was spared and the restaurant must be ruined. Although I have not seen a pic, I was told that
everyone is without work until further notice.
I do hope they rebuild - I am guessing they had no insurance since the buildings were so close to the water.
Here are some photos from La Bocana, Punta Abreojos and Campo Rene.
Two of the La Bocana cabins.
The abalone farm was badly hit - years of dedication gone.
I hear that many folks lost their roofs, I do not have photos.

The best part is no loss of life. I still have not heard from the Oaxacan family except a quick note to say part of their metal roofing had gone.
Our hotel suffered zero damage. Even my plants were spared. So grateful. CFE was out in full force and stayed there:

Wow...so sad to see so much damage...Hilary was a b-tch! I always thought the cabanas were very susceptible to storm damage. I wondered about the
shacks in Campo Rene too as they werent very strongly built. None of us in this area of central Baja expected that much wind. Thank goodness there
wasnt much rain but the waves had to be about 25-30' and it hit at night so it was hard to see!
I dared to go outside once around 9:30to as the waves were really sounding close and they were coming over the cliff up close to the house...frigging
scary! The wind toppled and uprooted most trees, many roofs, tinacos, most garages and sheds collapsed and the waves came up past the main street of
Bahia Asuncion too scattering rocks and pangas in the street. It was a chit show! But there were no serious injuries and it was a storm no one will
forget here...biggest hurricane ever to hit here.

Sad to see all that damage. Looks like high tide plus storm surge was bad situation. And reports indicate many roofs not sufficiently anchored to
withstand wind. Hope the rebuild stronger and higher!

Words that there has been damage does not convey the horrible reality like photos.
Chit show is right (my Mom loves that expression).
The video that is online with the raging arroyo in Santa Rosalia is downright scary - I assume you all have seen it?

A very sad day indeed,. Spent a lot of time in those cabins.
This spring you could see that the sand bar on the other side of the estuary was lower and the piling under the cabins were more exposed at the front
half of the cabins from last years hurricane.
In previous years it would have taken a really high tide to get up the cabins but not this year.
There were 11 cabins with those on the very west being newer. And the very west cabin was brand new.
