Not a trip report, but a warning for Nomads with dogs!

I like to check out new areas on my trips to Baja, and have checked out Colorado river access several times. It has been discovered that a parasite new to California has been infecting dogs that swim in the river near Blyth on the CA/AZ border.

Here is the link; https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/presence-of-parasit...

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Thanks for posting, AKgringo.
I will forward that article to my group of river buddies. Many of them bring dogs on our float and boating trips to that section of the Colorado.

It sounds like the parasites are treatable is someone is aware that their dog may have been exposed to them. This is meant as a heads up, not a plague warning.

I intend to be passing through that area in the next week or so, but I don't have a definite route in mind. It will be determined by occasional maps searches, or letting my Garmin surprise me.
