Maybe someday you can tell us about her name and a little more about her Marv. She exudes "attitude" in the photos (even the baby picture !), and
looks like quite a character. You're right, 3 years isn't long enough although I'm sure they are years you will cherish.
But 21 years isn't long enough either Bedman. What a lucky girl Miss Freeway was to have found your family.

Yer a good man Marv. That was one lucky dog. Such a marker in life. The time spent with our beloved little friends remains to be one of the biggest
joys of life for many of us. They never put conditions on the love they give us. Pure and simple love. Sorry for your loss.

Crap Marv..............not what i wanted to wake up to today. Poot was a cool dog for sure. Cathy must not be doing well with this either.
Janeen is equally sad.

I am really sorry for your loss Marv. Poot looked like a very sweet dog. We had to put Kole (our family dog of 16 wonderful years) down back in 2001.
It was really tough at the time, but what we have now are all of the great photos and memories to remind us of how amazing she was and how big a part
she played in our lives. Our thoughts are with you.

They just leave a hole in the heart
Nothing can replace the unconditional love of one of our fur babies---dog or cat, they just don't live long enough.
It always brings tears to my eyes---let's hope they have a special place at the Rainbow Bridge for Nomad pets where they can share their stories about
Baja.
Just so sorry
Diane
On Edit --- for those of you who had to make that terrible decision, I once again found another poem that helped me just
The Last Battle
Author Unknown
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
Second edit---sorry, did not mean to copy all of the poems, just the one above

This poem is so painfully beautiful, more pain than beauty. It forcasts an event which I dread, a merciful end for my best friend. The time isn't
near nor is there an assurance that it will play out that way but, I know someday I will have to bury her. It pains me equally, knowing how close
we are, that she may have to bury me and be alone till her time.
The innocents don't seem to warrent an end as do the tainted but, everybody and everything has its time.
I've come to terms with my own mortality many times but I can't accept it for my dog. It just doesn't seem fair.

I know there are no words that I can say that can offer comfort to Marv and everyone else here who has lost a pet...I'd guess we all have...so, I'll
just say that I understand how heartbreaking it is, and offer my sincere condolences.

Growing old
I am old, and just thought I would pass this along.......
Grow Old With Dogs
When I am old... I shall wear soft gray sweatshirts. and I will spend my social security checks on wine and my dogs. I will sit in my house on my
well-worn chair and listen to
my dogs' breathing. I will sneak out in the middle of a warm summer night and take my dogs for a run, if my old bones will allow...
When people come to call, I will smile and nod as I show them my dogs... and talk of them and about them... ...the ones so beloved of the past and the
ones so beloved of today....
I will still work hard cleaning after them, mopping and feeding them and whispering their names in a soft
loving way. I will wear the gleaming sweat on my throat, like a jewel and I will be an embarrassment to all... especially my family...
who have not yet found the peace in being free to have dogs as your best friends.... These friends who always wait, at any hour, for your footfall...
and eagerly jump to their feet out of a sound sleep, to greet you as if you are a God. With warm eyes full of adoring love and hope that you will
always stay, I'll hug their big strong necks... I'll kiss their dear sweet heads... and whisper in their very special company....
I look in the Mirror... and see I am getting old.... this is
the kind of person I am... and have always been. Loving dogs is easy, they are part of me. Please accept me for who I am. My dogs appreciate my
presence in their lives... they love my presence in their lives......
When I am old this will be important to me... you will understand when you are old.... if you have dogs to love too.

thank you
my wife and i would like to thank all of you for the kind words. "poot" was very special as they all are in their own way. you can never replace them
and always remember them in memories and pictures as we have with all our pets, but is always very tramatic when you lose them. on the bright side we
have a new member of the family, and she has started the healing process with the rest of the family. i havent got to meet her yet but soon. and oh
by the way someone asked about poots name. i got the name "poot" off a ron white cd. dont know what this one is going to end up with as a name. again
thank you all.
Want what you have
