It's been a year......
Since Hurricane John disrupted so many lives. I feel good that Mulege has rebounded so well. Like with most natural disasters there is a period of
frenzy, saddness and mourning. What shocked me most was the chin-up attitude displayed by the Mexicanos. Obviously, the poorest folks suffered the
most. Tho I heard very little to no whinning, it was the gringos who sniveled loudest.
I wouldam proud to call myself a resident albeit a part-time one. Kudos to all who worked so hard and feverishly to bring back the
town. The place looks marvelous. The flowers and plant growth are amazing. The rio is as clean as can be I suppose. The petty crime deminished. I pray
for a mellow weather season. I thank all those who helped us and others out of the mess. God bless you.

Hurracane might be coming that way again! Hope not!
We all want a peaceful world, filled with love and laughter, but we fill ourselves with anger and hate trying to fiqure out how to achive it.

guess we'll be working on our roof on Monday then...it so rarely rains here, even when John dumped all that water on Mulege, we only had like an hour
of light rain. Lets hope Henriette is nice to us all.

Here is a picture of our first trailer we lost .Douglas of bahia realestate and his crew are halling it away for us (late Oct.)
The storm hit sat. did not find out till following thurs. We were bummed , but it was only a slight set back . We didn't lose loved ones or our
principle living space.
The whole experience gave me a better appreciation of the internet (as for information tool). The mexican government for their quick response. The
people on this web site for there caring and info they got out in some trying times.
Mrs. Tortuga and I will always be grateful to Douglas and Rosa at bahia realestate for gathering up our stuff from the trailer wreckage and then
keeping it for us until we got down there in Oct.

So very true
Good of you to mention the Nomads. They were instrumental towards equipping the Bomberos with rescue and emergency equipment. They helped to raise
nearly $4000 which improved the departments' ability to deal with fires and floods. Many personal thanks to theirs and others generosity.
These guys also were very thankful.

Sharks, we're all buttoned up here in La Ribera but Henriette doesn't look like it's gonna be a "Beach Walker". As a tribute to you Mulegeños I just
took all the water from the last rain out of my panga. That assures that it will rain here and that Henriette then might rain out before it can do
you damage in the north. Lets hope the Calfornia current is cold enough to keep it soft as it goes up the Pacific coast. Anyway, good luck, you
deserve it.

Thank you George. Russ, what kind of stuff was deposited there. Was there a large amount of deposited sand as well?
Have you seen our furniture?

Hurricane John turned some of our Nomad buddies world upside down, but they landed on their feet and came up swinging.

Sharksbaja , We had a lot of stuff from Mulége a long the whole length of Santa Inez. Bars, doors, propane tanks, flouresant tube unbroken, toys,
chairs, tables, you name it. if it floated it came ashore. I really couldn't go out and get the stuff. It was just too sad. Weeks later while I was
out I found two matching little stuffed bears not 3' apart. Toooo sad!
