That's correct. To put 4x4 axles under it would cost $3000, differentials without lockers, which would be sufficient for mild 4-wheeling but not hard-core rock-crawling. I would even help in finding the appropriate axles and install them myself for the buyer so the vehicle could be driven off my backyard. I have an extra set of used but good stock 19.5 wheels and tires for $500.

The axles that I took out were built with robust hard-core components - cost me over $6000 - and I didn't want to start over again for the new rig.

In short, for the $4000 you get the 1998 GM L29 454 cu in Vortec engine, the 4L80E transmission, the BW 4470 transfer case, dual-alternator setup, which BTW are all in great running condition I wouldn't think twice driving it cross-country, and the fiberglass body/shell with the non-deleted exterior and interior parts, and of course the legend that comes with this rig :-)

How you gonna drive it XC without wheels and axles?

Id call the first ad and your subsequent postings until the last one very misleading.

You might have more luck with full disclosure in your advertisement.

No Shell Island trip this month. I only get 3 days off for Memorial Day weekend. Have a good time, though.

That's all we have off Ken... Get up early Saturday morning and be there by noon!;)

A "blurry-eyed" run? No thanks. Its better to feel rested, not rushed.

Mood: Have Baja Fever

Seriously? Baja Shell Island is the most relaxing place in the world... 48 hours there is like a week or more resting somewhere else!

If I wasn't taking someone new with us, I would leave Friday after work and get there about 11 pm to Midnight. Then wake up Saturday morning on that beach!

Getting there by noon or so Saturday will be fine... Time moves so slowly there, and Sunday will be a total relax day with fun... and high tide at mid-day for swimming. A non-hurried return on Monday.

How many days did we have there for 4th of July when you were there before... 3 for us?

That's okay Ken, I will post the photos... as it is now, besides 2 vehicles in my family going, we may see Art in his new giant 4WD motorhome, and Udo (who called today) is a maybe with their new FJ Cruiser.
