Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Dollars are accepted everywhere...

You can get pesos to get a better exchange rate, however... at the border (U.S. side), Costco in Chula Vista, or at ATMs in Mexico.

I have always used USD. It be wise to carry 1's, 5's and 10's. I personally dont care about the exchange rates for short runs into Mexico....not worth the effort to save a few bucks .

Agree with McFez... and the Mexicans actually seem to prefer dollars (for one thing they make more as they get to make their own exchange rate)...

In the markets, I see locals using dollars to buy food, etc. (in El Rosario, which is not a tourist town)

Use dollars and that gives them even more profit.
