I agree..compared to NB, its pretty skunky....BUT...its all about location. If you're 1200 miles north of the last patch of pavement, you'll drink it con mucho gusto....Believe me. I knew a resident of Mulege ..gone for years now...who brought as many Coors from the US as he could stuff into his van. Go figure....

One needs to understand that even after so many of the brewers worldwide have merged, the bottom line is that for a foreign brewed beer to be able to be sold in the US, they must have preservatives in it.

In this day and age, savoring the brews of other nations is really best done on their local soil, in that the product being dispensed is meant for local consumption.

I personally have always sought to imbibe of the local brew, wherever I may have traveled. In particular, it makes for an interesting experience in certain Muslim nations, be it Turkey or Egypt foe example. They both have great beer. But the local dirty secret is that the "faithful" are supposedly prohibited.

Efes come to mind.

Roger...

I had this Leinenkugel recently and thought it was EXCELLENT! Made me want to try some of their other brews.

Take Care,
