I love the Salton Sea!
Dad and Mum would take us....along with the neighbors...to the Salton Sea camp for Easter breaks. Caught my first fish there too....a Sun Fish. It was "the place to go" in the late 50's for many L.A. folks

I stay there every time I drive to Baja. A fast stop into the Indian truck stop for free hot showers...and a fast bite to eat...then I drive over into the Orange groves to do my four hour nap. It's great to sleep within the smell of orange blossoms.

I was camping across the sea from you Thurs. night. Nobody likes the Salton Sea, but I sure do! It didn`t even smell like rotten fish this time. And there`s Salvation Mt., Slab City, hot springs, bloop bloop mud pots, White Pelicans, fields of Snow Geese, Bombay Beach, Niland Marina, some low flying military jets, and geocaches!
Beautiful night Thurs., the Sea was glass calm about 76 degrees. It is a bit disarming when you figure out the beautiful white sand, isn`t sand but dried Talipia bones (BTW I threw a few dried up Talipia on my fire and discovered a new source of firewood). :)
Borrego looks beautiful, maybe next week! Thanks for your pics!

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.
