It would be interesting to see some of the cute commentators spend even one day with this guy out 100 miles fishing in an open panga in the weather with a single outboard motor, which he routinely did for years before this incident.Im sure there would be some soiled panties.

i'm not cute so i know you aren't referring to me, but now that i've had time to digest this story some more it would seem that a dead body in the middle of the Pacific wouldn't be appetizing for more than a couple of days max so i doubt homey partook of the buffet. now, since they had fishing gear (i hope, or why would they have been there anyway) a few strips of flesh would provide bait for weeks, if not longer!

And you're right Lancair, i'm sure the line to endure 400+ days adrift is fairly short.....

You need to read the book "438 Days" to even have a clue how this went down or begin to appreciate the stuff this guy was made of. I think it's safe to say very few here, including myself could compare.
