Baja Rosario Festival 2006...!!!

Hello my friends...

It is my pleasure to invite all of you to the Baja Rosario Festival 2006, which will take place in a couple of months... on july 21st, 22nd and 23rd (friday, saturday and sunday).

Last year we had a blast... our dear friend Connie Ellig wrote a wonderful review, you can see it at: http://www.ensenadagazette.com/rosfest05review.html

Thank you so much for coming to El Rosario last year...!!!

This year we plan to enhance last year activities... among other things, we expect much better shows at the "Jaripeos" and a lot more antiques at the "Art and History Expo".

Remember that El Rosario is only 4 1/2 hours south of the border.

Also, I would like to organize a special activity or treat for any nomads who come to the Festival.... so, let me know who is coming and I will put up something great...!!!

For any further info on the festival, you can e-mail at festival@bajacactus.com

For any other info, I am always available at info@bajacactus.com

Hope to see you soon my friends...!!!

We did have a GREAT time last year. For a first year annual event I would have to rate it very high. I surely hope Audrey can get her schedule set up so we can go again this year. We would plan to still camp at the full hookups behind (what's the name of that motel again David?)
Looking forward to the new schedule of events and offroad plans too!

This sounds fab and we happen to be in Baja at that time! Would love to join everyone but we need some tips -- no RV here so we need a room. And is this a "dog-friendly" event or should we leave them at home with the dog sitter? I did google El Rosario earlier today to see where it was (not far from us!) and ended up at what I think was the Bajaexpo site...looking at El Rosario, clicked on the link to Espinoza's (maybe Mama Espinoza) who had recently built some small casitas or something for lodging (oh, and my Z could most probably be an S -- and well -Norton Anti Virus went crazy and found all kinds of things -- trojans, hackers, etc - so beware of that our fellow Nomads! But, please, tell us how and where to book a room, and we would not be that reluctant to leave the canines behind for a couple days!

BB2005, check out our directory that goes with Baja Talk Radio. You can contact the hotels directly, but Antonio's Baja Cactus is the best. Contact him direct. I hope it's OK Doug to post this?

Baja Cactus Motel is the #1 place... http://www.bajacactus.com (for contact info.) Photos posted here on Nomad of the motel and rooms (fabulous with primo mattresses in the NEW rooms).

Mama Espinoza's Las Caba?as Motel and The Motel Sinahi are the other two in town. Then there is 'Baja's Best' Bed & Breakfast on the far end of town. An RV Park is behind the Sinahi Motel.

Lodging...

Hi guys,

Thank you for your enthusiasm... that is what makes all the effort worth it.

And thanks David and Ted for the nice words.

Regarding Lodging and/or RV Park spaces... I can help you to get reservations on any of the four places in town (BajaCactus, Las Cabanas, Sinahi or Bed and Breakfast)... or if your prefer you can do it yourself.

I will get the four phone numbers and post them here.

Any other other questions you may post them here or e-mail at festival@bajacactus.com

Just a reminder to bring some kids clothes, school supplies and anything else you can think for Mama Es orphanage. So pack your cars and trucks up! Twin sheets for the bunk beds, pillow cases, blankets, stuffed teddy bears, diapers, bottles, sippey cups, paint sets, ect. Let's show them the heart this nomad group has! See you there!

Yeah, that's the place to camp, with full hookups. And, the restaurant there is fantastic! Many Nomads had dinner there and really enjoyed it.
But for a motel room, I would recommend Baja Cactus first.

This is one place where the camping is done during the festival, or anytime you want to beach camp near El Rosario... This is La Bocana Beach, about 5 miles from Hwy. 1.

This is another... La Lobera, 6 miles north of El Rosario and 3 miles west:

For an established campground, go north about 20 miles to El Pabellon or Gypsy's/ Cielito Lindo.

Neal, thanks for letting your amigos know all is well 'down under'!!!

Don't chase too many 'roos with your right hand drive Toyota, otherwise a gum tree is 'bout like to step in front of your 4X4!

Bring back some of that outback red sand!
