Yeah, baby, what beasts those Tigers were! A guy in my high school had one, and had to replace the clutch a couple of times a year because he was
constantly slipping it to stay at low speeds in traffic. But even that didn't hold a candle to the MG Midget another guy had shoved a V8 engine into.
Scary. I wonder if they keep statistics on how many of those Tigers got wrecked (I heard that this was done some years ago for AC Cobras, another
car famous for being too much car for most drivers).

Sunbeams.... and detours...
My brother and I (and 6 of our buddies) race vintage Formula Vee's (in the SOVREN group). Lots of fun... Ours is a 1969 RCA. Our run group has a
total of 14 of em' !!!
Our run group includes small bore stuff.... MGA, Volvos, Saab V4 and 3 cyl., Bug Eye, occasional 356's (though they race in the next group up
generally), Sprite, Imp., a Peyote, Lotus 11, and some vintage oddballs....
In the larger bore run group, we have a couple of Sunbeam Tigers that give the Porsches, Vettes, and early Mustangs a scare!
Lots of fun... The SOVREN (Society of Vintage Racing Enthusiats - all 1969 and earlier) races are in Seattle, Portland, Vancouver BC, etc...
Always a 5 to 10 hour trip to the races for us... but we love it!
We'll be racing the historics at Seattle and Portland the next several weeks.... Who'd have thought all my early years of driving old volkswagens
would come in handy in the pits!! My buddies all take good care of md ("the doctor"..... because I wrench with latex gloves so I don't have greasy
paws when I'm on stage with my cello!!.... Hah! if only they knew!!!)
Ok... end of detour..... back to the old truck....
