Bag Limits...

Juan posted the limits correctly a fefw posts up. dorado is limited to two per day per person, billfish one, roosterfish, tarpon and also two per day and everything else is five. that's a total of five...if you catch one triggerfish, three yellowtail and two cabrilla you're done...the way the law reads is that five fish no matter what is the daily limit...Two dorado count as five fish, one billfish counts as five...and so on...confusing but that's where we're at.

I beg to differ - it's five of any single species, not to exceed 10 total. The rest is correct.

Pam

Thanks for your good Help!
There was conflict years before the "Reserve came into being and it will always be as that is "The Nature of the Beast"!

I was having a cup of Good coffee one morning on the porch at Rancho Sonrisa when a couple of mexicanos put a Net directly in front, a couple hours later a pick up Arrived and as they loaded their Catch, a person with Authority came and took them and their fish "Downtown" so it works sometimes!

After the ban on Turtles most of the Fisherman that I know respected it except for once a year when they would have one Turtle, Beer and a Family Gathering.

Lobster is there but you should not take more than you can eat in One Day on the Beach near where you Catch them!!
You are breaking the Law if you do so!

My concern about the Limits outside the park are directed toward the Local Fisherman who for years were allowed to take Fish, use it for Food, then Filet and sell to their neighbors who had no connection to getting Fish.

Pam do you know of anyone who has "Tested the Shrimp population since the Shrimp Boats have been forbidden?"

Years past the Shrimping was one of the best South of San Felipie, so with no more Shrimpers the Bottom should be covered!

Was there a good Squid Season? That sometimes tells you what the Fishing will be like in the Months to come.

Is the Sierra Fishery better, are they coming back in Numbers? Are the Sardines coming in close to shore are staying out aways?

Are the Barracudda coming in close to shore?

All the above are signs of future and present Fishing in and around Loreto as you know>

Hope you business is doing good.

thanks Skeet/Loreto

Lobster - Shrimp

My understanding has been that fishing licenses do not allow non-nationals to take lobster or shrimp. Can you give me the straight stuff on this please???

Juan , it is good to see you posting again. i was concerned that ole Age was getting to as it has to me recently!

As you can see i have been going throught a Change of Life at 73.Had a Knee operation that went Bad, had a 90% Blockage with a couple of Stents, PSA level went out of Sight, but has been proved to be non-cancerous, Have gone back to the Lord after being a "Backslider for 56 years, went into the Goat Business, have a couple of heifers, a beautifull White 'Cremalla" Quater horse mare that is now preganet for the first time, and still find time to give the Liberals hell for being such Weak-minded and unmoralistic, Doing what they feel good types, that Quote other people instead of using their own experiences in Life such as you and I have had in our many years of dealing with people and Problems.

You are a very Luckey person as I to still be sitting on the Beach, watching your Son furnish you with Fish and Clams, and watching those Great Submarines go out to Protect us from Evils around the World.

I miss seeing and talking with you! someday We may be by to enjoy you Hospitility.

No Lera!

Lera, I think you are a Good Person that i would like to meet and have a cup of Coffee at the Side Walk Cafe at the La Pearla!

You are older than I ,so out of Respect i will will pay for the meal and not try to confince you of any thing about Politics, Religion, or Sex.

I am sure that we could get to know each other and have respect for each other as we have seen many things in our life, even through our take on the things that happened in our life may be different~!

At this point in life , we only know each other from'Words", and as you are aware Actions change things, body lanuage changes, No I do not think you are as I have posted, that was a Generalization, which caused me to be Banned from a Board.

So , why do we not wait and by chance meet, then Judge each other "Eyeball to Eyeball, we might even find some common Ground!!

Bag Limits In Mexican Waters

...sorry I'm a day late but I've been slammed with business lately. I have in my hands the copy from the PESCA of the Mexican bag limits and I have to admit that I am being re-educated... here's how it reads....

(the practice of recreative sport fishing is subject to the following maximum limits of capture):

1. diez ejemplares diarios por pescador, con siguiente composicion por especie:
(ten examples daily per fisherman, of the following species):
-no mas de cinco ejamplares de una misma especie
(no more than five examples of each specie)
(when refering to marlin, sailfish, swordfish and shark, the maximum limit will be one of any of these species)
(in the case of tarpon, dorado, or roosterfish, the maximum limit will be two of any of these species)
(in reference to freshwater species the maximum permisible limit is five)

(in activities of recreative sport fishing from a boat, in which the duration is more than three days, the maximum accumulation of species that can be captured will be the equivalent to three days bag limits as established in section I above)

(for underwater fishing the limit of capture is five examples of whatever specie of saltwater or freshwarer fish per day)

then there's a bunch of stuff about folks like us who provide service to tourism and what we have to do in order to conform to their laws....

Here's some interseting stuff:

Prohibiciones:
a).- retener especies o numero de especies no autorizadas
(retaining non authorized species or too many authorized species-over limit)

b).- capturar crustaceos, moluscos, mamiferos aquaticos, reptlies o anfibios
(capture of crustacens, molluscs, marine mammals, reptiles or anfibians)

(the use of gill nets in bays and esteros and in waters where there exist sedentary species, except in cases where SEMANARP gives express permission

(the use of artificial light to attract massive amounts of fish)

(the practice of trapping fishing zones withough the express authorization of the SEMARNAP

(to practice recreative sport fishing in zones of repopulation and in prohibited zones inside natural protected areas, when it represents risk for species that are under protection or endangered or to practice sportfihising less than 250 meters from commercial fishing boats, or from fixed equipment or floats used for commercial fishing, or 250 meters from beaches frequented by swimmers..

g).- utilizar "robador", "grampin", o anzuelo de multiples muertes
(to use a ...I dunno what a robador or a grampin is...sorry!...)

(to fillet aboard a boat the catch)

(do not anchor of fix the boat less than 15 meters from the perimeter of coral reefs)

Hope this clears stuff up amongst us!

No filleting on board so species can be determined.

And I think
b).- capturar crustaceos, moluscos, mamiferos aquaticos, reptlies o anfibios
(capture of crustacens, molluscs, marine mammals, reptiles or anfibians)

is the one prohibiting taking of lobster and shrimp. ??

250 meters out? no surf fishing either? or do I just need to find an isolated strech? I thought about taking a tin boat out on the Tijuana flats after moving there.
