He's found a new target.

We won the Vic VanElla award in '04 for the selfless support of the offroad racing community.

We continue to do so, nothing has changed.

Guess he just can't stand good people doing good things for good people.

Here is a receint thread between a few of us on the crew as Curtis alerted us to his latest antics. The guy is such a tool.
Start at the bottom and work your way back up to here.

You can ignore him but he will never go away.
He is like a staff infection on Baja.
No one will even shoot him cause they can not justify the expenditure
of a single round on a POS like him.

Although it would be just talking to the air, it should be pointed out to Mike that we do what we do self funded.
In that light, if he would like to come along to our next pit, supply some of the 10s of thousands of dollars of equipment we drag out into the Baja desert with us, work for hours on end without sleep, all to help the racer dreams come true, I would be happy to treat HIM to all the beer he can drink.:

Umm, thats no good. What is that about? He trying to discredit us now for some reason? He must have read some of my other posts on BN. Do you suggest a public ie. site retraction of this or just ignore it?

Did you see this? "Locos Mocos will buy everyone a beer at the 1000 at Papas&Beer"... www.**************.com

I'm guessing he read your 500 trip report on Baja Nomad and the part about me buying the bucket of beer?

So would I.

Gadget I don't know this person to whom you refer but does this belong here? If anything your (or whoevers) threat to report this person's google blog is malicious and if I were this guy I'd copy this exchange to forward to google if the bolg does get removed because of your groups actions. Again I don't know the parties involved or their personal business behind the scenes but I get tired of these periodical juvenile exchanges here. Just the opinion of a nomad reader and occasional participant.

OK, thanks for the comments. I have edited all of the other pit personel names off the e-mail thread. No ones e-mail addy was displayed and is not an issue amoungst the 4 of us that I posted the thread. I left mine there as I can be contacted via u2u here anyhow.

I guess some comments may be generated from lack of knowledge of the individual in question or the fact that he has pirated our logo and posted and offering on his web site stating that we are buying beer for anyone who comes into Papas and Beer in Ensenada if they drop our pit crew name at the bar.

We are all pretty POd about this.

If we were all making big coin doing what we do, it wouldn't be so big a deal, sort of. We are always out of pocket for some serious coin, every one of us, to produce the remote pit service we do.

Anyone think its cool to try and make us look like we have failed to man up on an offer that looks like a legit add on this nuts web site?

I never heard of this Overcast guy before I joined this board. Somebody sure has a hard on for him. They created a spoof myspace page and a whole spoof forum totally dedicated to him:

He is at most Baja/ Mexico/ Off Road shows... I saw him at the Off Road Expo and lately at Mexico Ted's Mexico Expo. While I try to see the best in all people, there are some who just don't have a clue on how to treat others or be an honest businessman.

Overcast and his son showed up at my Viva Baja #3 party... no RSVP, but he did bring a bunch of Baja guides for door prizes, which was nice.

My first beef with him came when he refused to give a refund to friends who sent a check to join his Baja_Safari Club, and never got anything... and he then refused to refund the money even after the cancelled check was provided. I made several email attemps to resolve the problem to no avail.

Really shallow to refuse to give a $25 refund and have bad publicity instead...

Overcast is a major, MAJOR whackjob. I was on MexicoTed's radio show when he called in using a bogus name and made a HUGE false accusation against BEMCC, citing all sorts of claims against them that later I proved were not true. (Celia Diaz of BEMCC recognized his voice because he had done that before) His harassment of them has been very costly. He sees them as competition, somehow....he's also harassed Discover Baja Travel Club.

What a piece of work....
