"the cats had better watch out"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shari. That comment caught me off guard on this thread, and got a good chuckle out of me. God bless ya for your love of Gods creatures!!!!!! BUT!!!! Aren't you afraid of your cats 'desire' for bird food???????

nah...our cats are well trained by our free range chickens to stay away from beaks...our chickens scare the sweet bejesus out of cats and dogs alike! Queenie has been flying around the house today...she is standing beside me at the moment begging for food but the fish ran out and we are waiting for Juan to get home with a fresh meal...be cool queenie.

well, Queenie is getting pretty rambuncious this morning...whenever she waddled over to me, I gave her food but the fish ran out and we are awaiting Juan's arrival with more....but in the meantime she is getting agressive...she tried to eat Nancy's shoe and is looking at me pretty menacingly at the moment...didnt want balony or smoked yellowtail either....uh oh...hurry home Juan!

Geez I love bologne...if it's good enough for...well anyway I think you've created a Princess snob. I am very impressed with your caring towards Ms. Princess. I do hope she get's healthy soon for the sake of your fingers and shoes.

The other day as we were walking along the beach my 5 year old son and I saw a bird with a hurt wing. It was a rather large bird...I think a seagull. My son really really really wanted to take it home and get it some help. I didn't know what to do...any suggestions? Is there an outfit here in Todos Santos that handles this type of thing?

I told my son a white lie...I said I would call the folks that help birds and they will help this wounded bird. Two days later my son asked if those people came and helped the bird as it wasn't in that spot anymore...I replied yes. It was sad to see a bird that otherwise seemed very healthy except for one broken wing.

well this may well be the last chapter of the Princess Queenie episode. She started flying around in the house and rousted the cat from her sleeping spot

then she took a tern on the piano

after flying into a couple windows, I decided to take her outside..she turned her head when she heard her sister call

and just suddenly lifted up and flew away out to the rock in front. She reunited with her sister and told her about all the strange humans in that house on the rock but great free lunch.

We had a wonderful few days together and I learned alot about birds and learned to love little queenie..juan will be sad when he gets home. I'm so glad we were able to help her.

Ya Shari, when Queenie spreads the word you might have a house full of birds seeking free lunch.
I mean, this could really take a "tern" for the worse!

YOu know me...more the merrier! We wonder if she will remember her days here and muse at the possibility of her showing up here for lunch someday.

Most of your guests do seem to make the migration "home" eventually.
Seems to "tern" out okay!

Alright that is my last "tern" joke. Queenie might get angry.

Congratulations Shari and Juan, you pulled off a great rescue. Your friend is now back where she belongs.. otherwise how could she grow up, raise some chicks and teach them to come to your place for a free meal. Scientists are documenting that birds have a lot of memory where it comes to remembering food sources. You may have made a long term friend.
