thanks snowcat...as much as I would love to blame offshore fishermen...I think local fishermen shoot a fair amount of sea lions and dolphins in the name of protecting their fishery.

This practise has slowed down with the prescence of Reserve officials as they have caught and punished offenders.

This is part of an article I just wrote for Western Outdoor News. You should check out the site!

"What he refers to is the issue of 1000 tons of illegal sportfishing, two-fish limit fish, illegally being commercially taken in this area. There are three very good YouTube documentaries called Oro de Cortez Part I, 2 and 3 describing the thousands of tons of dorado that are illegally being exported to the United States each year from the port city of Guaymas, Sonora Mexico while authorities look the other way. Also exposed in these documentaries are the tremendous numbers of marine turtles that are shipped off as by-catch product from the long liners targeting dorado, that goes to the black market each year."

Just type in Oro de Cortez 1, 2, and 3 in the subject box and you watch the shor documentaries. This an issue I'm working on these days with the documentray director.
