Sally,
This picture was of our shrine from last year. It was actually from before my mother passed away. Her shrine is much more simple this year.. just a
picture of her, some flowers, a candle, and a glass of white wine - which she enjoyed.
In the photo I posted we used Marigold floweres, Pan del Muerto (upper left - an offering), white candles (to guide the spirits), candy (for the
spirits of the children), etc..
A trail of flower pedals is left from the door to the shrine to lead to spirits to it. (In fact, last year while i was on Baja Nomad.. our front door
flew open by itself (the only time this has ever happened!))
Also, maybe not pictured.. a cup of Tequilla, a pack of cigarettes, and a few toys for children.
Copal (pine sap) incense is burned, and.... well my fiance told me it is not good to take/eat the candy.. which I love to do. We also had chocolate
candy skulls with the names of dececed family members and friends glued to their foreheads. The painting in the background was one of my first oil
paintings that depited the heat/hell of Mexicali during summer.

Oh no... you didn't... Ken.
Oh, yes, you did.
My band opened for the Misfits twice back in the early '80s, when Glenn Danzig was still their singer. I must say though, they are as good or better
w/o him.
Going to see the Damned & Adolescents Saturday night at the House of Blues in San Diego. Got free tickets because my buddy's nephew is the touring
guitarist for the Adolescents, and we know the band from ancient times (At this point, should they not call themselves the "Fat and Bald Middle
Agers?" Tony Cadeana is a friggin' high school teacher).
Anyhoo, Ken, thanks for the Halloween video.

Halloween was very quiet in Rosarito. In years past we would get 100 local kids and about 500 tijuaneros packed like shriner clowns into minivans.
This year we only had about 150 total. When it became apparent the kids weren't coming out in big numbers- we doubled up on the candy so the ones
that did venture out had a good time! The parents we talked to in their cars all said the same thing- it's the lack of security.
And although the local police are trying to kedep everyone calm and the rumors down- telling adults they can't wear hallowen masks while out this
year or risk arrest didn't really set a welcoming tone.
