Another great Baja Weekend 9-18-10

Just a short note... with a full trip report coming soon!

We went to El Rosario for my 53rd birthday, as I can't think of a better place to be than in Baja California.

Keeping it easy, no camping, so... less work for me! We had a super comfortable two nights at Baja Cactus Motel and Antonio even had a surprise present waiting for me when we returned from four wheeling to Las Pintas on Saturday...
Thanks Antonio! :bounce::biggrin:

The route south Friday afternoon was Otay to Corridor 2000 (formerly Blvd. 2000) to Hwy. 1 to La Fonda where we hopped onto the toll road for the quickest route into Ensenada, as the sun had set.

Corridor 2000 was in great shape, 110 KPH speed limit was easy and we took photos... The same coming home today, except we turned east to Tecate on the free road (4 lanes wide, all the way) Mex. 2...

Arrived in El Rosario at 11:30 pm, Friday... easy drive... Tacos in Maneadero twice at Los Poblanos, going south and coming home... great!

Saturday we explored around Las Pintas, but this time we also drove around and parked on on top and saw so much more than I had seen before just walking to the top.

No problems other than another flat on the BFG tires... from a sharp rock, again...

A very fun and enjoyable weekend in Baja... just what I wanted! :light::cool:

Left El Rosario about 11:15 this morning... Sunday (tonight) border wait at Tecate was 20 minutes, starting at 6:20 pm.

Lot's of photos and those details you guys like... mileages, GPS, stuff... look to the Baja Nomad Baja Trip Reports forum soon! HERE: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=47965

Happy Birthday. keep on collecting them. The BF Goodrich tire
has been a longtime favorite of mine for Baja. Iwas am going to need some new tires soon and was wondering about how
you rate them, seeing that you actually stray off the blacktop.
