Major storm

My boy and I were going to depart Loreto Airport around 8:30 this A.M. when the winds hit! Blowing 40 kts said the tower. Got another taxi to go back to our recently vacated room. Hauling 60 lbs of fish around back and forth... . But, it died down within a couple of hours so I hauled my boy and that 60 lbs of fish back to the airport again. Commandante thought it was that hurricane down South causing the disturbance. Had a nice 25 kt tailwind going North!

That's the kind of wind we had on Shell Island July 2-3, that also sank the Erik.

Don't know, Teddi.
However there appeared to be a higher pressure system here on the central Pacific coast that held the clouds east and south of here, Bahia Asuncion. Being somewhat of a prognosticator I'd venture a guess that if those clouds held much moisture they might have let a loose up in them thar hills!

Today was the hottest this summer in these parts which is still close to perfect.

Aha...so THAT's why we had a hot, windless day here on the pacside...at 8:30 pm it is still 83 degrees and 55% humidity...prolly got up to high 80's here today...we sure had a fantastic swim this afternoon to cool off. We did have a nice 10 knot southerly breeze mid day.

Bajafam just arrived in their vintage Moho and said there was a sandstorm in Vizcaino late this afternoon.

Geez, Russ, I leave you alone for a couple of days while we go to San Diego and you let the wind blow. Be anxious to see how the new Hurrican cloth that is all put up looks. Sounds like you are back to normal.

Jim/Lynee-- I'm not sure you want to know how well it worked after all the work it took putting it up.
The patio is a lot darker and I think it cut the wind. However the wind came outa the NNE and mostly blew in the patio along side the mstr bdrm. Think broom and shovel. NO damage though.

Thanks for that, Lynne says as long as windows are not broken and tables are not messed up, then everything is OK. Gives us something to do to work up a thirst for cold Pacifico.

We're running with some luck. We hit the road on Saturday morning and didn't see any signs of such weather heading our way. Nothing but hot, sunny, and muggy. Glad we didn't have to fight that stuff.
