Yeah....always the fantasy. A large part of the commercial success that Corona has seen is a result of Madison Avenue advertising. Just goes to show
ya....one could sell ChickenSht in popcorn boxes if the label was pretty enough.

Corona quality control
Back when I was selling this crap I would routinely find used limes in bottles. Also, it wasn't uncommon to find bottles capped yet empty or severely
chipped bottle lips. Once, I discovered a bottle half full with caked mud.

I remember those days as well.......with lime wedges in the bottles anyway. I missed the mud treat.

Corona is SO bad i won't even take a free one.
i just bought a 6 pak of Dos XX lager in Albertson's so i could have some beer for friends coming for the game today.
$7.49
i'll be doing vin and some brandy.

So far, discussion seems to involve strictly lagers.....which I also enjoy immensely.......however, I'm now a fan of IPA's.....you know, that bitter,
higher alcohol content brother of a smooth, sexy lager.
Are there any IPA's in Baja these days?

Corona---
In I968 I was in San Francisco and had an office in the Alcoa Bldg. There was a very small and good Liquor Store nearby where I could buy Corona and
Tecate Beer.
If some of you may recall a very stron Rumor went around about that time as Follows: The mexicans are peeing in the Corona Vats of the Beer being
sent in Bottles to the States!!!
Well the word spread and the Owner of the small Liquor store was stuck with many cases of Corona Beer. As a relut Corona was sometimes reffered to as
"Pussey Beer".
I drink Carte Blanca anytime I can get it other wise its Dos XX's.

Some of you young whipper snappers probably can't remember
that Pacifico was not available in Baja or anywhere
outside of Mazatlan, where it is brewed, until late
'80's early '90's, re: Corona no self respecting Mexican would drink 1, it's Tecate for them. We used to call it a flug
check, looking at the bottom of a bottle that has been
washed and refilled dozens of times to check for
who knows what

Those were great!
How about XXX Tres Equis, and the original Mexicali Beer of the 1960's Baja? I was too young to drink, but recall them.
The new Mexicali Beer is made in Tecate, and I like it a lot... Just don't see it too often!

i don't think they do. i was just starting to drink back in the early 80's and when we discovered the built in bottle opener we were hooked!
now i love a cold ballena, unless it is summertime. i can't drink them fast enough before they get warm.
funny story (or not!) about corona. we were camped out at that super secret spot back in the mid 80's. after 3 days the ice was gone, the temps were
in the 90's on the beach. to survive another couple of days we had to put the beers in a dive bag and drop them into a hole in the tide pool. 90
degree beer or 72 degree beer - what would you do? i've never tasted a corona since.....

I believe they do, but not on the long necks. Those never did have it....to my knowledge anyway.
