Yes, I drank a few at Henry's also. I remember the place was a real dive but with good Mexican food. I always felt as though the floor would give out
since the termits had their way with the shack.
Another place that had the best Mexican food and a great bar was a restaurant called Burk's. It was accross the street from the Swallows in an old
adobe building. Printed on the menu were the words " With a name like Burk's, it has to be good."

Ah, the days of yore--Henry's and El Patio(Lucy's) were one of our basic food groups growing up. El Patio lives on but not so autentico anymore.

Thanks BB...
Nice thought. In fact, we just had dinner together at different tables.
We'll try to gather all these folks together at your place since you have the largest refer full of Pacifico.
Thanks, Pal

I didn't know Debra but after seeing her foto, I wish I had.
Hook ...... "Kings Kitchen" doesn't ring a bell. The name is right on the tip of my memory and I'll let you know when it comes to me. None the
less, it was Gin Lee and his family that ran the place and I knew them fairly well.
Capo Auto Parts was fifty yards east, next to Browns gas station and trailer camp.
Olamendi's did well on the coast highway, not so well in Capo.

The "really old" part is right-on. One last thing, maybe, is the name of the Chinese restaurant, came to me in the middle of the night.......Jade
East. Should have been called Debra's Jade East.

You forgot to mention UNSOLICITED detail.
Is there anything stopping Debra from chiming in at any point?
Besides, I thought the thread already established that she is w/o computer, at this time.

I was thinking that maybe she couldn't bare to check in here as it would remind her too much of her amigo Mike H. Aug 1 till now is a loooonnngg time
to be having computer problems. I hope she checks in soon. We all need to be caught up on her car, her kid, and how dreary it is in the NW.

She may be stuck in the muck. Believe it or not we haven't had 100mph winds, a
foot of snow or pouring rain.....for at least a couple days. Life is good.

Since I live just down hwy 16 from Debra, I can vouch for the dreary weather. Flooding, windstorms, snow. Trees were blown down on people's houses,
powerlines were down on the street, all very scary. It was nice to get a break from that with a trip last week to Cabo even though the weather in Cabo
was subpar.

Debra once had a get-together of Washington state Nomads... I am sure she would like to talk Baja with you and others. She met Norm Christie who has
the biggest collection of Baja publications for sale or trade... He is a neighbor of yours... look up posts here by 'Rockman'...

Debra here........Yes I'm alive and well. I am having computer problems (too slow and I just won't use it, should have a new one soon)
And yes Tom, it did take me awhile to even check in at the board when I came back from Costa Rico and checked my cell phone message, the messages
didn't sound good so I called Maryann and was shocked by the news.
As many of you know here Mike, Maryann, and Brendan and I have been very close over the years. He was the Grandfather that Brendan never had. He and
Maryann have bailed my sorry butt out more that once! Never failing to offer aid even when Mike and I weren't speaking, (which happened more than
once) Many of you have seen our banter on the board over the years, and we
have had a couple of knock down drag out fights, but, I really loved Mike and (it may come as a surprize to some of you that think you know Mike and I
and didn't really, some of you do) I know that he loved Brendan and I as part of his family.
It took me a couple of weeks to get myself together before I could even tell Brendan. I hadn't seen my son cry since he was a toddler. It broke my
heart. Hopefully he has meet up with Don Jimmy and they are happily writing stories and swapping tall tales.
We love you Mike!

Now, David K.......
There isn't a better picture you could post, sheesh! (how about the one in my PJ's (just kidding, don't you dare!)
Tom...... you miss me? you miss me? Last time I remember you called me
"a chain smoking litter bug with no political views"
Tell the truth now, are you bi-polar by chance? Just kidding! Good to see you back........ Now, behave yourself like the old days, K? I'll be down
at Maryann's place the end of March until I feel like heading north......so if you're around, stop by and I buy you a Cervasa.....
