Skeet, I dont care what you know, what you did, or who you know. ************.

Make no mistake. The failure of many students in our educational system is the breakdown of the family and a failure in parenting. Don't blame the teachers or the union. Teachers (grade 6-12) usually spend 5 hours a week with their students.

Get a life. I'm sick of your posts. ************************. This site is for Baja enthusiasts.

Skeet-ers! you old dog! Sounds to me you need some serious nekkid motorcycle riding! Your statement "Unions have no business representing people" is really quite a whopper! Bridges represented the longshoreman and warehousemen. Aren't these people? I think what you're really peeed off about is the arbitrary grouping of individuals who refer themselves as pangueros rationing the guide work among themselves with absolutely no concern for said panguero's training, skil level and competency. That's not a union!!

Regardless, I'll share a snort of hooch with ya anytime!

On another note has anyone been to Cocina Terri's in San Carlos (Mag Bay)? We got royally ripped off there and was wondering if anyone had a similar experience.

Whoa there, Cowboy - pull back on those reins!

Yep, it was none other than Willie Shakespeare

Here is a few more favorites of mine attributed to William Shakespeare

"Come, gentlemen, I hope we shall drink down all unkindness"

"Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once."

Just wondering what "tax dollar parasites" have to do with unions since the latter represent WORKERS?

Surely you didn't mean all of those giant corporations that receive by far the largest amount of distributed tax dollars, did you?

The problem seemed to occur when a number of large and wealthy unions became a bit too full of themselves and continually escalated demands for pay and benefits. Ultimately, many employers (corporations)just shipped the jobs out of the country in response. I don't think the US was ever in a healthier condition than when there was a fair balance between the owners and the workers. In recent times, the power emanates from the board room.

Oh: DianaT!
I have enjoyed most every minute of my Life and am still Hanging in there!
Health insurance;--Just kicked up another $40 a Month on my Sipplemental

Retirement benefits__Started paying into Soc. Sec. in 1943 at 12 years old.
Did not pay in the last 10 years before retirment as I was self employed working 17 hours a Day. Now get $700 a month,

Best wage I ever nade worked as Aviation Accident Investigator-claim Mgr $15,000 a year.

Enjoy an 8 hour day.==No always had to work many more hours to pay my Taxes!

Safe Work Conditions- Always kept my Eyes and ears open. Took care of my own Safety.

Was 40 years old working for someone else when I realized that if I was going to go to Baja and really Retire I was going to have to do something on my own.
Did it an retired when I was 53 years old.

Had to pay $85,000 in Taxes about 3 years ago. Really hurts when you see where a lot o your Hard earned money goes especially to "Dumb Butt Teachers" who keep their Jobs only because the Union Forces the Districts to keep them.

Ever wonder why there are so many new Church and Charter Schools??
Check out San Jaciento Academy Amarillo TX/or Arbor Academy Amarillo TX/

Unions are responsible for $50,000 Aurto mobiles, Free School Lunches for Millions of Obese Children.

Unions are only good for the making of Material Goods not the Teaching of our Children!!!!!

While I agree with you that for a time the Unions became too large and powerful and acted as poorly as did the large corporations, I do not believe that is the main reason the corporations moved off shore.

Yes, the large corporations are looking for cheap labor, but they are looking for labor that is way, way below what could be considered any kind of a low living wage in the US. Also, the corporations with their bought off politicians receive tax benefits for going off shore for the US government. I am not talking about lower tax rates in other countries for corporations, something the right wingnuts and corporate supporters like to claim, because there is a very large difference between the stated corporate tax rate in this country and the actual taxes they pay.

The unions are what created the middle class in this country---a middle class that made this country such a success. Sad to see more and more of the middle class falling into the lower economic classes --- even the major Fascist, Henry Ford knew that workers needed to be paid enough to buy his cars.

But it seems that today so many people vote against their own best interest---they are puppets for the corporate monsters and remain ignorant as to what is happening to them and the country.

As my bumper sticker states, "When I see the America Flag it Makes Me Proud to be a Liberal" This country was founded by an incredible group of liberals--liberal in politics and religion. It was not perfect, nor all inclusive, but it has continued to be a work in progress.

Unfortunately, there are forces today that are working against the real traditions of this country. But like other radical religious revival movements and radical jingoistic political movements in the past, I believe this too shall pass.

Guess I am still an optimist. But without the unions, there will be no middle class which is what creates something other than a third world country.

Skeet, once I was criticized for viewing you as nothing more than comic relief----but if I did not see you that way, well, the alternative would be real unpleasant.

Truth DianaT.

In my Generation I saw
Poverty, like the WPA which my Father worked for.
I worked in the Field and yes walked a Mile and a Halpf to School among the Rattlesnakes.
I worked Cattle.
I was a HOBO for 2 years.
I went to War. People during World War 2

I observed what happened to Japanese during and after World War 2
I Graduated from College
I worked South Central LA as a Special Investigator and later observed the Watts Riots.
I worked in Oakland Calif. and observed the LBJ Economic Opportunity Act being worked.
I became a Pilot.
I went to Baja and spent a total or 38 years in Baja Sur.

I collected and ate a Lot of Lobster supplied by Keko and Juan who allowed me to go with them and check their traps at San Giorgio{just a little South of where you are}
I sold Mexicanos peoples Property because they did not Trust Americanos.

I learned early in Life that you work hard, save your money and you will not need some Blabber Mouth with Socialist or Commie telling you "How to live your Life.

Now DianaT What is your Story?? Where did you gain all your Knowledge.

If you are 80 now, and ww2 ended in 1945. That would make you 15 at the wars end. Did you join the army in 1939 at age 9? Where you a HOBO before this?

My grandfather, who recently passed away at age 91, was in the navy during ww2.
