Roger I am glad I saw the photos before you pulled them. Some of those folks looked like me :). One question though - it's been a long time since I've been to Serenidad and I'm not sure I've ever been to Ana's, but the photos looked an awful lot like the bar at Serenidad. Am I just dreaming or is there a similarity?

Hi Ken,

The photos are still here...just moved them to a better place..Mulege Mirror thread.

And no, Ana's bar scene is nothing like the Serinadad's today. Even back in the day, it was different. Maybe you are thinking of Jorge's old Las Casitas?

Marty..oh, I've seen a few scattered around the globe in certain 'hotspot areas'. As for our resident hippie population in Baja..well, it's kinda like this...

..Baja has been has been hanging out with the hippies since the 60's.

I'm damn proud to call lots of them amigos.

i guess a new wave dude might clean up-knock some life into them 'ol timers.....

woody... I have known a lot of these Baja 'ol timers for a long, long time. I daresay they did..and still are doing...a helluva lot more than you seem to think. I doubt you have anywhere near the years of experience these people have in Baja. And I got to give you a little warning....some of these old timers are kinda rough around the edges and not exactly pacifists.

Rudeness is a weak man's imitation of strength. Do you also disrepect your parents and grandparents with such statements?
If so, I urge you to feel free not to read any future posts I may make about Baja 'ol timers....such as myself. I'm really older than dirt, y'know and relatively harmless. :saint:

I agree with you Roger,

the smug attitudes displayed in this post by a few young people is rude to say the least, I dont think they have a clue in the world what goes on around them, guess their thinkiing is that any one older than dirt should be confined to a nursing home,
I would venture to guess that your friends that was having the party at Anna's , are folks of exceptional acomplishments and choose the life style of living in Mulege instead of living in a posh gated community, these people are strong individuals that will live the life style and choose friends their way with out reguard to what others have to say about them,, good for you Roger and all your friends, good job and well done

Soldier on, my friend.

Barry

You are guilty as any other of personal insults and unfounded negativity, both of which are against terms of service here, though not enforced by Doug who is therefore complicit and has even more responsibility.

Clearly you think it's cute and fine for you to engage in divisive personal insults if the person is outside of your tight circle of LE brotherhood or some such designation, often in choir with others, as though you really enjoy ganging up.

It is disappointing that it's not possible to share adventure, ideas and information here in a healthy and open manner without a dog pile of personal attacks generally lacking of substance by people such as yourself who can not see the forest from the trees and would blame the severe degenerated discussion on others instead of accepting that the problem starts from within, this gang of daily negative posters among which you lead the chorus. Shame on you Barry. I suggest that each of us, starting with you in particular, speak to your family and friends and begin to consider what is going in side of you that causes this attack/defense reflex, instead of open polite discourse, disagree without making it a personal attack, make your points factual not personal, strive to understand the subject and dimension without falling back to negative cycles.

I too noticed the rudeness, Rogelio. The BajaNomad is a community and is a microcosm of virtual communities. Most are wonderful people and there are also a few a$$holes.

You know that I enjoy your compositions; photos, dialog, humor. Always well done! I understand your disappointment.

Tu amigo,
Tony
P.S. I don't think Woody was the culprit(s).

Please find a place other than Nomad to post your hate Gnu... Barry has been a good Nomad and has stood up to others for their attacking based only on warped political ideas.

Thanks Roger. I guess I've left a few too many braincells in Mulege. Most of them were left at Serenidad but I do think I vaguely remember Las Casitas.

Pompano, sorry that "some" folks don't really have "manners" ...

I for one would truly hate to see the loss of your excellent contributions, along with all the folks you meet and know.. and your tackle box.. (as it is one hell of a talking tackle box)...

Always enjoy your posts.. they are always about living life... at a level, most will NEVER see...

Thank you for being one who "shares" their life experiences so openly ...

Enjoyed the evening out ... only wished I could have been there...

Always liked Tommy Lee Jones approach to "rude behavior"... in Lonesome Dove...

David,

I don't think "hate" is what Gnu is about. You should retract that.

I also think Barry is a good Nomad and a gentleman. He and I have often disagreed over political ideas, but again, YOU characterize them as "warped". Barry has the ability to discuss his positions without rancor. You do not!

Each person here should consider their role, certainly as I am in posting about Barry. What position am I in to discuss this with him on this thread, I am in the position as ar emany of receiving his misplaced and divisive talk, just as DK does here. You both seem to lack reading comprehension as a starting position, following many reasonable discussions, you jump to a overly stated position of defense which includes harsh words, insults and tone not previously envoked.

This note does not personally insult Barry, nor DK, but it does point out, politely, that there seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding in your posts, prejudice, lack of ability to present fact or example, inability to state opinion without being insulting.

The common guilty parties are well apparent-they also post more often, clearly the responsibility falls first upon Doug the senior Moderator who created this forum and fails to moderate negativity however is quick to delete posts which are honest and critical.

Each of should be willing participants to flag negatvity, personal insults and ask Doug to moderate the forum according to common practices of decorum otherwise we have nothing but a forum full of insults, misinformation, negativity and bullying which is apparently the case now.
