San Ysidro, tried the "left" lanes this time (on Monday). A little longer than 3 hours, from about 7:15-10:15p +/-.

True, Dennis. My fault for thinking I was a U.S. taxpayer expecting representation.
Lucky me, I've got my SD trips down to "grape juice" shopping every 2 months or so. |
Bring your bike. We can ride. Saw someone representing Punta Banda Bike
Club at Bike the Bay on the 28th. |
Bajabound2005 and I did Bike the Bay wearing our red Punta Banda Bike Club shirts; three other friends from PB did it, too. |
On the ride out after the party I spoke briefly with one of you. Good times.

That sounds like loads of fun Doug... | Not really... as you're well aware.
There's two ways to get into the left side... either from 2nd (Juarez & up the loop), or from Zona Rio by Costco. We came in from 2nd, and the
line was all the way back to Constitucion... which is quite a few blocks. That's the longest I've ever seen it.
Most of the past decade or more - when crossing at San Ysidro - I've used the right side.. but on someone's opinion/advice, thought I'd try the left
side again. I found their reasoning to be valid - but would likely approach that side from Paseo de los Heroes next time.

Thanks, Matt. The PB Bicycle Club's energy and endurance have shamed me into retirement. They are mighty road warriors.
Perhaps we need a taco smackdown at Lucha Libre in SD?
Hope you and yours are cooling off during this quickie warm streak. |
We are staying cool. You stopped riding? We are always up for a taco smackdown!

I spent 2 hours at Otay today. The line wasn't all that long but it moved REAL SLOW. I had the car in park a lot. No merges or anything like that.
They were just moving them through slowly. Maybe they figure if the lines are short they can do a more thorough inspection. I don't know, but it
sucked sitting in line with the car in park, not moving for minutes at a time.
I would have taken the ready lane but my passenger didn't have a RFID. The ready lane had a huge line in it, maybe 3 times as long as the others, but
it moved quickly. I watched it as I sat there, not moving.

I already razzed our fearless leader about TKT...
Although, I have waited 3 hours there as well... but of all the times I go across there, only twice has it been over 45 min.
