My wife and I had lunch with Mark & Oliva today. They are doing well and expecting things to pick up!!! Here are some picture of the place today if I have done the posting correctly. We toured all the houses and Mark is staying in the one that is nothern most on the beach and all others are unoccupied. There was some workers, a while back, staying in one of the homes and all they did was remove all the windows from the home that is closest to the front and store them in one of the other places. The hotel is in shambles. It had a fire in it that took most of the interrior out.

Mark and Oliva where both very nice and looking forward to increased activity at the restraunant, and wanted everyone to know how much they appreciated the support!!!!

Great pics, and thanks a million for having a camera and posting. Truth usually has a great way of winning in the long run, so we can only hope that Munoz has decided to move on to greener pastures.

So, I guess we can assume that the homeowners had only a lease on the properties and lost their investment in the houses and such.

Yes, thanks for the pictures and report. By the way the burned out building is not the hotel...That burnt building in the pictures is David Chaneys old house and the building that Munoz put his generator in..it burned some years back. The house Mark is in is, was, owned by Thad and Lora Jones... a really nice house..and yes, all the homes were on leased land...we still don't know who owned the land. when we first leased we thought it was Ejido land leased to Mike and Olivia, then Munoz shoed up and claimed everything....it all went downhill fast from there,.

Mexico!! Where two can live as cheaply as one.....but it costs twice as much.....

I never met Terry and Family, but knew Charlie and Clare you were owners of the house they bought! They now live in Borrego. Ted and Cheryl owned next to them and used to live in oceanside! Alex and Gaylene built the duplex next to hotel. They maybe only used one year or so after they built it. Big Stan lived in between them and passed away last year or so.The big house behind was built by Mike for Barry and Melissa, they never even finished or lived in it.Over by Marks and Olivias was a house Mike built and sold to Jim and Ermma from Carlsbad. Dave Cheney was living on Requeson when Mike brought him over and put him up in the place that burnt when Munoz brought that big yellow generator. Dave was a great Flamingo gutiar player and wind surfer!!! He passed away years ago and his ashes were spread out by the beach in catavina.I have many fond memeories of Playa Buenaventura, and have made many return trips by myself to see Olivia and Mark.We are also friends with Franca and Roberto and there son Marcos, you were a big part in the building of the hotel!!!My wife and I have traveled to Italy and stayed with them. I never thought that something as remote and beautiful as this place would end up like this!!!What ever happens i hope that it can return to the place that has brought many wonderful and awesome memories to me and my families.La Buena Vida
