My apologies.

Do they really have HEPA filters that can trap viruses, as the article says? Viruses are pretty darn small.

Hey, you were only partially wrong. Only some of the air is recirculated.

Do people with allergies to dogs and cats have any rights in airplanes or hotel rooms?

Well, lots of hotel and airline owners must think so.

" . . . rat dogs in airplane cabins or in purses in stores, restaurants or supermarkets. what compels people to take their rat dogs everywhere? don't they know dogs are probably happier and less stressed if they stay at home in the back yard?"

What compels them is their emotional need for so-called "unconditional love" (isn't God and your mother sufficient?), faithful companionship (one-sided conversations), unresolved fathering/mothering issues, attention-seeking, personalities that require dominance and control over something, some irrational defensive need for "protection", among other selfish, inconsiderate motivations. Your pet may be a "member of your family" but it's still an animal - that peees and defecates in public, barks, has fleas, and most do not have adequate social skills because their owners are too ignorant. Pets are welfare animals who have had to relinguish their self-respect due to humans' emotionally needy idiosyncrasies. They are loyal to you because they know where their next meal is coming from. Don't kid yourself. Pitiful really.

I am a cat guy (in between cats right now) and like dogs...as long as someone else owns them....but I kinda agree with the basics of your rant....
