I just read in the paper that the accident was the bus driver's fault and that he fled the scene and the police are looking for him.

Bart, may your soul fly with the pelicans.

The bus driver fleeing aspect may be untrue rumor per local sources.

I left Mulege for Sacramento early 10Nov or would have still been in town. Might still be there recovering from the wake.
Miss you Bartolo! Hugs & best of luck Lupe!!

it may be a rumour but it is very common for a driver to flee in a serious accident.

Results are the same. Somehow blaming the bus driver could mean we have someone's ass to kick for this terrible loss, but a loss it remains. A few times during a lifetime one comes across someone extraordinary, bigger than life. Good-bye dear Bart. I doubt any of us whose lives you touched will ever forget you, dear friend.

Thanks for doing this. Great idea!
Not able to help out with serving, but I'll stop by.
Put me down for three dinners, please.
With all respect to the circumstances, can I get 'em to go?

Mulegena, I'm only the messenger. The family is putting on the benefit, doing the cooking, serving etc. I'm sure '3 to go " can be done.

Mike, several people are collecting, I'll forward the info to who needs it.. [ I'm not collecting funds]

The Friday benefit/fundraiser has been moved to Monday at the family's request. The bar will open at 2:00 PM and there will be a taco dinner. Jim

Nels and I send our sincere sympathy to Lupe and Bart's Kids. We are still in shock over such a loss for Mulege. It has been a sad year for our community.
