Larry C and DK's maps are good dope, have done both.
Arroyo Route: When you get within 1/4 to 1/2 mile of the ocean, turn left up onto the sand dunes to miss and mud.
Do not turn right on the beach when you get to the ocean. See pic.
The Arroyo/Canyon Route is quite scenic.

YES... warning to ClubFred: do not let the flat beach fool you... dry, wind blown sand covers mud/ quick sand... Stay along the dunes/ cliff and walk to the water or to collect floatsam washed ashore.

I think Mike McMahan had the most fun out at Malarrimo in the 60's and 70's!

(I think I would leave the torpedo alone) :o

Finally back! Wow, glad to see this discussion went on without me. (I've been crazy busy).

On the road now (currently making a pit stop in Washington) and I'll definitely share all this info with Fred today. Exciting!

Thanks everyone! ~ Kristene
