The point of the post is Nomads who cross at Tecate might find themselves wanting a place to stop to eat. Of course, it is not a culinary
destination. Why am I out there eating? I regularly take MC rides out that way.
by the way,
"salad dressing from bottles bought at Costco", many of the restaurants we all favor in Baja would fall in that category.
Good, not great, eats in RSD:
Hooley's Irish Pub
Arrivederci Ristorante
Dolci Café Italiano
Press Box

Actually there are quite a few good eateries in Rancho San Diego, but I chose to start in Jamul for the list.

There are? What places in rsd are good?
You listed eating stops on 94, have tried a few and none had anything but average food. Nothing too interesting. Uninspiring burritos, salad dressing
from bottles bought at Costco,... The decor of some of the places is " quaint east county," but food is not worth stopping for. Suggest packing a
lunch for good eating out campo way. |

Ken,
Have you tried Habanero's yet?
It doesn't really fit into the diner class but the couple of times we've been there we've been pleased with the quality of the food.
--relative to San Diego County that is.........
All the places you mention are worth a stop .. well with exception of subway , just can't hand my dineros over for a bread and lettuce sandwich.
Miss the Dulzura cafe, don't know what happened there, it was a great place for a home cooked burger and ice cold brew

WE have tried most of the places listed on 94 some are better than others. Now we wait until we get to JANET'S on E. Main (old 80 ) its on the corner
of E. Main and Greenfield in a little Shopping Plaza.
Great Food and Service.

I have a feeling Goat doesn't spring for even fine dining.

Fine dining for Goat is an evening at the landfill.

Regarding good food in RSD. Try the Press Box on the north side of the 2nd Ave across from Target. $6 lunch specials, Tuesday $1 street tacos and nice
service people. The chief knows his stuff and the Seared Ahi is outstanding. website:
