I was stunned and saddened to hear this news yesterday. Curt and I have known each other since junior high, and were coworkers for the Escondido Union High School District. We've shared many Baja stories together. I had just heard from Curt the other day, and saw him on Tuesday night at a school board meeting. I was dumfounded to hear of his untimely death. Life is precious... hug the ones you love. I will miss you Curt.

Andy, it's been almost 10 years since we met "out there!" and I can't wait for the next time out paths cross.

Curt will enjoy many waves and cervezas if I have anything to say about it!!!!

All you guys who care, every time you go "out there!" you should call out "This one is for Curt!!!!" before you drop-in to a Macker.

I'll do it for you and I hope you'll do it for me! Kinda like a bond between brothers......

Ditto. I liked his posts as well. They were always so level headed. He will certainly be missed here.

I had hoped it wasn't him but recent posts reveal that it is. So sad.

I will do it. Next Baja wave (and a few more) I will give respect to Curt, who, like the teacher he was, taught me about a certain area of Baja that I was unfamiliar with. I always hoped to see him in the Oceanside North Jetty Parking Lot, where he would go from time to time. Sorry we never met. Shaking my head in disgust that I never met this great human.

Sad to go so young. I too lost a young friend recently.
We were stunned. No way to explain it or figure it out. Just have to accept and move forward.

Woody, thanks for the awesome idea to celebrate Curt. You can be sure I'll do it.

As for services: Curtis's memorial service is Saturday Nov. 2nd at 1pm at Emmanuel Faith Church in Escondido.

Oh No. Way too young. What a great guy and wonderful Husband and Father! I am reading this for the first time after arriving here in BCS. I talked on the phone with Curt in early October. As always, he was full of energy as we talked about a visit this fall. Like many of you I met Curt down here in Baja on the beaches of Pescadero. Last October he used my van & stayed at my place with his wife. Oh so sad for his family. Can't believe it. May God Bless You, Amigo. Tomas:no::no::no:
