again, like the sprit... |
Thanks, wessongroup
Now all we have to do is get it started. Has anybody heard from Gypsy Jan??
I don't get a lot of time off, but I'm sure I can find enough to get her done and then adjust from there...
Are you in Rosarito too...

Yep El Pescador.. south about 9 miles... however, I already have an alarm system on the entire house, security cameras (motion activated) , dog, and
walls (12') with broken glass embedded in concrete on top, heavy wooden gate, steel entry door with a second door (which has a peep hole) .. with a
20' climb up the wall facing the ocean, and it has plant material growing on the wall which makes it very hard to climb.. and a fence on top of the
wall.. and some interesting hand help devices some Nomads have shared with me..
Know all it takes is one individual who is determined and has "watched" what has been going on.. for a week or two ... but, don't think many are para
military around here.. more a situation of oppourtunity.. from what I've been hearing..
Water supply inside and covered.. large tank which is back up to the normal water line which supplies the house.
Think your offer is a good one, and Gypsy Jan, could use some of your "thinking" on some of her issues.. there are others here too with really good
experience on "how to keep" safe... and have help me in my thinking ...
One has some of that other type of thinking go away.. over the years.. and if your not dealing with it full time.. you just tend to lose the edge one
needs to keep ...
And when you get really old.. and messed up... well it gets even harder.. bad eye sight, bad hearing, loss of mobility, loss of any strength..
How come they didn't teach about this stuff... or was this just another example of me not paying attention in class?

noproblemo2,
Have you actually seen and or talked with her since the incident?? I really hope she's OK. Maybe she can contact me for my offer when she's ready. My
phone number is in my profile. I'd also like to get down there to meet with you soon.
Maybe have lunch.

We too are so happy nothing terrible happened to GJ and family.
Okay... okay... so I'm going to throw out some possibilities...
Perhaps the intruder went out a window in the guest bedroom before she checked it out, as I too don't think she would have just gone back to bed after
seeing the guest bedroom door close, with the handle in motion without satisfying herself that no intruder was in their house...
or maybe the door handle was kind of stuck in some position... and air currents caused the door to close... also causing the "stuck" door handle to
release to the normal position... ??????
I know I'm "reaching"... but there has to be more to this story than GJ was ready to tell...
Also... ditto what most have said about situational awareness, being careful and taking whatever preventative measures possible to protect yourself...
whether you are in your own casa or out and about... Bad things happen everywhere... and our beloved Baja is certainly no exception...

I would guess that Jan just doesn't want to draw attention right now. Let's give her some time and space. Respect her momentary absence from this
forum. I would suggest that we pause with the prattle until she reemerges.

I agree... From what "noproblemo2" has told us, GJ is OK and is an fine
upstanding person who wouldn't use this board for ulterior purposes as a had first addressed. Based on that, I'm willing to give her whatever time she
needs to get some sence of security back in their lives. When she is ready I hope she'll take me up on my offer to help. Until then as "toneart" said

Still Alive And Bit-----, Err, Kicking
Hi All, thanks for your many expressions of care and concern, public forum and private.
All your ideas and suggestions have been relayed to Mr. GJ, head of security and they are being duly taken into consideration.
Just one comment from this dog lover. Our dogs responded appropriately to the midnight rumble, but remember, alarms had been going off in different
areas of our neighborhood and they had been barking at these noises for quite a while. The intruder that came into our house entered our guest room,
underline guest room, and did not enter any other area of the house. The dogs have learned that strangers are welcome in that room and do not respond
to noise in there. That is something we have to think about.

OK Kasheydog...Jan's back now. Prattle away! We won't tattle or do battle. I was just trying to tell the cattle not to rattle the chattel.

Welcome back Jan! Glad you are OK!
