Sorry. I made an assumption. It could happen.

I know I thought I was wrong once but was mistaken. :saint:

I will have an update on border area road conditions seeing how I will be flower hunting with the wifey tomorrow. :dudette:

The only thing closed is a stretch heading northbound on the steep hill section just south of the old Russian spy lookout building. Just follow the detour signs that link you to avenida segunda. It'll take you all the way to the border. Theyve turned a portion into a one way street.

I would sure like to get the full story on that place. I've heard all the rumors, but not from anyone who would really know the facts.
The roof used to be covered with antennas of various types and it was said they were keeping an eye on our naval operations in San Diego during the cold war. If that was true, it was so nice of Mexico to be so accomodating to enemys of the free world.

That's about all I know too Dennis! That building always stuck out. Looks out of place.....I wonder if the USA knew about it back in the day. If they did, all they would've needed to do was plant a bunch of trees on the us side of the fence to block the ruskies view.

As reported southbound side is wide open and looking good. Northbound is closed from the interchange at bottom of hill and on up and over the top next to Russia house. There was traffice merging back on to the north side near the bootom of hill. We came back north via the Libre straight thru town to a 4 1/2 minute wait at Sentri. :dudette:

Is the southbound side still wide open?
Pulling a trailer south later this week....
