motoged, your pictures are beautiful! Anytime you're showing them I'll happily pull up a chair.

Were they all taken in Baja? A few brought other places to mind.

Thank you sooooo much for posting them.

Paula,
Yes, the majority of those pics are from places in Baja...a few are from Oaxaca and Troncones (just north of Zihuatanejo).

Anyone can check out those and others in my Smugmug site:

I was surprised that I could pinpoint the locations of so many of the pictures-- places in Baja, and yes-- Oaxaca.

Hmmm... I think I saw the breakfast patio at Las Golondrinas in your website Oaxaca pix?

Ged......Gotta add.....your shots are color saturated in a Kodachrome way. [I know....chromes are slides] Are they digitalized film or did you work on them with PS?
I noticed you mentioned not having time as yet to do your slides.

All these beautiful pictures are the simple proof that Mexico cannot be experienced in Black and White...or Beige.;D

Paula.
Las Golandrinas is where I stay in Oaxaca...YOU have a good eye....but I don't think that any of the pics in this thread are from there....but I do have one of from Las Golondrinas in my bathroom ....a geranium on a window sill !!!! And, as you refer to my Smugmug site....again, your eyes and memory are working well....
Thanks for taking the time to sit and look...

Las Golandrinas....great place with a great owner (last time there was about 6 years ago)....first found it in 1986)

Dennis,
All those pics are from a Canon or Panasonic point-and-shoot....all film shots are still in slide format and have not started to digitize them....a "retirement" project perhaps.....I have 5 trays of slides selected from 3000 slides I took on a 3-month trip to Mexico and Central America 20 years ago....have shown them at local "cultural" events with encouraging feedback :)

Glad to contribute to the visual appreciation of the world beyond beige....although some earth-tone shots are worthy as well....

Ged, the 5th picture on page 2 of your Oaxaca album sure looks like Las Golondrinas to me. The table coverings have changed but it sure looks like the little breakfast place on the upper patio.

We stayed there last winter and the winter before. I love that hotel!

Paula,
The pics in Smugmug change "pages' as the selection is random....but ....YES, Las Golandrinas is represented in the Oaxaca section of my Smugmug site....

What a wonderful city and state ! Some pics of Mazunte and Huatulco in the Oaxaca section, as well as a loop-trip from Oaxaca east over the mountains and down through the isthmus and back up to Oaxaca city.

We went to the isthmus last year.

WIIIIIILLLLLLLLD ride from the city in a colectivo van, flasher (is it ok to say that?) by the train tracks in Tehuantepec, iguanas above, below and beside me in the Juchitan zocalo! Terrifying, but we lived to tell about it!

I can't wait to go there again!
