Not much to debate. It is real. You denialists are just “debating” because you hate change, and you apparently don’t care a bit about your
future generations/descendants.
Meanwhile, you focus on the private jets of a few people. I know the solution. Luxury taxes. Let’s tax all the polluters: private jets, super
yachts, muscle cars, people who drive large vehicles but don’t need large vehicles, people that have large houses, fat people that consume too much,
etc.
I am all for using the tax system to accomplish social engineering to protect us all from the harmful effects of greed, over-consumption and waste.
Woke!

Not among the vast majority of the world's scientists it isn't. A bunch of man-made climate change denialists posting their uninformed opinions on
social media isn't what is considered "huge debate".

The same pay for play scientists who told us the poles were going to freeze over and we were headed for an ice age?

Let me ask a serious question. Normally, when you don't have a serious answer you resort to name calling, so we'll see how this goes.
1. Were these the same or similar scientists who said unequivocally that Covid came from a bat and now a lab? Those scientists then proceeded to
push social media platforms to disallow the American public from even discussing the Lab theory. Only to recant that opinion 12 months later.
2. Or are they similimar to the "scientists" who in March/April of 2020 repeatedly told the American public that masks were "not" required or
effective against Covid?
3. What about the scientists who told us that if you get the vaccine "You will not get Covid."
There are a thousand other examples of your so-called "scientist" making foolish statements because of their agenda's and financial benefits.

Short stuff:
You seem to be very upset when scientist or public health workers change tack based on new evidence and new findings.
I bet you are still steamed that scientists prior to 1543 told your ancestors that the sun revolved around the world.
I bet you think scientists should be charged with heresy if they propose new ideas or concepts without first getting them approved by GOP consensus.
Your attacks on science, the scientific process and scientists are not new. You and your GOP brethren are just continuing a long history of attacking
science that does not agree with your political and religious feelings.
Woke!

Atta boy, JZ. Don't believe anything that scientists say- what do they know, anyway? They went to school all those years for the sole purpose of
pushing some political agenda- much better to believe what your right wing buddies and conspiracy websites say- after all, they have no education or
experience in these things, so they have no agenda except exposing the truth.
And by all means continue to confuse scientific theory with proven fact and vilify scientists for trying to err on the side of caution and caring
whether our children and grandchildren have a future on this planet.

In all three of those examples there was no "new evidence."
In order:
1. Bat vs. Lab.
Day 1, several scientists immediately pointed the finger at the lab. They were shouted down. One woman worked at the Wuhan lab.
2. Scientists say Masks don't work.
Really? Do I need to explain things here? Why in the world would a scientist say a mask doesn't work before they have the data? And then completely
reverse course 3 months later?
3. If you get the vax you won't get Covid.
I watched a very good video by Voxx (Lib based org) in March 2021. It went through the trial results of all three vaccines. The main take away from
the video was that the vax's job wasn't to prevent people from getting Covid, it was to reduce sickness.
I posted the video several times on the board, as it was a very educational. It was the reason I decided to get the J&J vax.
Here is the rub. From May to July of 2021 multiple scientists (including the CDC director) and news organizations were saying on repeat that the vax
would keep people from getting Covid. There was no new evidence. They just lied.
Summary
In all 3 scenarios, the "scientist" declared their results as 100% fact. Within 3-12 months each one of those "facts" was reversed. No new evidence
was introduced.
Meanwhile, legit arguments against each were suppressed.

S,
Know any people who live off research grants? How many major issues would you like listed where the official scientific position was wrong?
Let’s just list a couple.
1) The continental plates are too large to move! Wrong!
2) We’re entering another “Ice Age”! Wrong!
3) The treatment for stomach ulcers is surgery! Wrong!
4) The world’s supply of oil and gas will be depleted in a few decades! Wrong at least 5 different times since the 1890s!
5) “Mother Nature is mad at us! - Ellen De generes” depends on whether or not you’re a Druid!

Goat,
You got it wrong! Your school didn’t teach European History?
The Catholic Church burned heretics not books! Which, along with the name calling fails to deal with the fact that big science is usually wrong before
they move in the direction of being right.
See above examples!

Clarkie,
The Spanish Inquisition sure burned a lot of books. I suppose the French and Italian inquisitors did their fair share of book burning too.
Where did you read that inquisition did not burn books?
Now that digital has replaced hard copy, how will you MAGA types burn knowledge on the internet?

Goat,
“Poking you is more rewarding!”
As is ignoring anything that runs counter to what you believe! BTW, how much water is running down your street?
Sorry, I oversimplified the subject.
The Inquisition burned heretics not books. A different church office published the list of banned books and was responsible for burning them.
Same Church but two different and separate church offices!

and what is not. I have no doubt JZ can do this. He is just too connected to his tribe to initiate real thought and actual change.

BajaMama,
The issue isn’t whether “climate change exists” as the earth’s climate has always changed, often far more then now.
The issue is will putting the people in charge who live in estates on the beach, operate fleets of SUVs and travel in private jets actually reverse
climate change? Is doing business at the “do as We say, not as we do” stand going to improve things for the little people like us?

Inane, at best.
Clark, and JZ, worry about how those with more money spend their money.
You have nothing to whine about Clark. You come across as cheap.
Can you ask JZ to stop whining about other countries and how they pollute the environment. What the hell does that have to do with Baja?

Lee,
Do Baja and BCS have their own air and weather? Other people’s trash doesn’t wash up on our beaches?
Cheap? You bet! I worked over 50 years to be able to build a house in BCS! You bet I’m cheap!

There is truth in that climate change has been a dynamic process since the beginning. However, the RATE of this era of change is new. Well, except
for the meteor events which cause immediate and drastic change.

S,
Apparently you don’t, won’t or can’t read!
The issue isn’t whether the climate is changing as it has in the past many times often in days not years or millenniums. Volcanos and rocks from the
sky as just two examples of changes in days. Neither are very predictable by science.
The issue today is what are the most important man caused effects on the climate and are the people trying to control aspects of our lives because of
“man caused effects on the climate” addressing those most important effects first or even addressing them at all?
My opinion is no and I can support that with facts and science!
Stop yapping about right wingers and deal with that issue!
