Mulege? I do not know why anyone did not post about San Ignacio. I saw a video on weather.com this morning that had footage of a bridge washout between Constitucion and La Pas, and more importantly, several feet of standing water along the low part of San Ignacio, like the road in.

Info about Sta Ignacio has been posted here somewhere. The bridge you saw was at km 93 towards La Paz, it has been repaired. Sta Ignacio to Sta Rosalia, the highway suffered sever damage and lots of standing water, yesterday. Under repair now. both those towns are dry by now.

The textile worker asked about mud at Sauls... Amazingly, back hoes , flying PAN party flags, have cleaned up from my place to Saul's and are cleaning all the town roads. This usually takes weeks and we live with dust, so thank you JD.

So, was this just archival footage that The Weather Channel chose to use that was from the last hurricane? If so, they have dropped down several notches in my opinion.

We were planning to stay in San Ignacio next month, and got worried that the town would be a problem.

There was a foto circulating, an aerial view of downtown, showing a foot or so of water, that was from last year. The town has no damage, yurts are fine too.

The good side of shoddy weather reporting

I never knew Baja Nomad existed until Norbert came ashore, and I started searching for news about the places I have been or planned to visit.

Every news feed I found was running the same tired footage from Cabo San Lucas, like it was an island somwhere near Mexico. Then I found BN, and was not only able to tap into current, local info (internet dependent) but was able to ask questions as well!

That was about a year ago, and since then, I have overposted my way up to 'Senior Nomad'!

Edit, I missed my anniversary, it was 9/20/2014

Second edit; I just noticed that the first edit shows up with tomorrows date...odd!

Bajahowodd numerous times in years past TWC showed footage claiming it was Cabo when it was not .. and, they used to report weather for Cabo using a weather station no-where near Cabo .. that, coupled with the challenges of many microclimates created by (help from any scientists or climatologists?) the meeting of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean along with the mountains of the Pacific Side (I forget the range name - DK?) which usually explains why someone in Cabo downtown says its raining, while 2 miles up in the tourist corridor its not .. sorry for the ramble-on .. (Led Zep) hope this makes sense.

Willy and others glad Mother Nature didn't get real nasty ..

Yeah, like I never been to San Ignacio! I bet you missed out on staying in the shacks just south of the plaza. Rolled our bikes in over the back ditch on a 2x6 to stay with the chickens and the pig. Great home cooking!

I'm surprised you'd think the town of San Ignacio would be a problem for you, Howie. It is higher altitude than most Ciudades of Baja, and with your nose so high in the air, I figured it would suit you just fine. However, you should stick to 4-Star hotels and golf courses that fit your fare. You daren't ruin your reputation of a hotelier, restaurateur and meteorologist IYHO.

BTW, weather stations in the United States usually forecast weather for the United States. I've yet to see a detailed presentation for the Philippines or Guatemala yet, let alone the State of Nayarit. You should watch the Mexican channels more.

I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

Yes, I missed that establishment....so who did the cooking, the chickens or the pig?

Got any new routes in your Mulege area? Last week I was looking at my GoPro footage of our ride through Magdelena...and missed you when I was down last year....looked like your place was closed (New Years).

After this last little rainstorm I think you can call all the routes out around M new No Wimps rides! They are gonna be hacked! The trees and bushes are growing like crazy with all the rain lately, making off road travel more difficult. But hey, that's Baja!
