One panga was in front of the Pemex next to you, the other two were closer to Palmas. NOT good
We are going to get an alarm system with just a siren. We don’t want to do any windows or door, the system we are looking at comes with two key pads.
We would have one in the bedroom, one in the living room. That way if we see any one, we hit the button, figure it’ll alert our neighbors we have a
problem. Might make the bad guys take off knowing we are on to them…So far we have 4 families that want them……..

this is what I've come up with at my place

My first line of defense is an air horn. I've told all of my neighbors if the horn goes off to come check it out. I've also conditioned (antaganized)
sp
my local dog pack (8 dogs) to seek out the sound which gets them in a frenzy. I also have a few next lines of defense at my close disposal.

 Where the pangas on trailers?

With all the crime last weekend, and with the Attackers saying they'll kill if anyone talks....I wonder if there are a couple of people who were
robbed and haven't talked in fear for their lives?

Everytime the dogs barked the last few nights I have been up immediately....however each time it has been a cow.

this incident is tragic and puts everyone who lives in baja on edge but serves us well as a warning to be generally more alert.

I understand Tony's post and can say the same thing about Asuncion....but just because it's always been safe doesnt mean it always will be. It just
takes one perp to screw things up and I highly suggest that even those of us who live in crime free areas to take this to heart and re evaluate our
situations. I dont think twice about answering the door at night and is normal for people to come for help occasionally...but I will certainly be more
on guard in the future.

The continuing slow down of the U.S. economy will not really help either, and I fear will only make things worse.. usually wrong, and hope so...

Ya know, all this macho talk of dogs, air horns, steel doors, iron bars, etc...it's just a big waste of time. Stop kidding yourselves and trying to
talk yourselves into a false sense of security. Mexicans are not stupid. They'll wait until you open your door to go outside, they'll shoot your dog
and they will clean you out. If you resist in any way they will kill you. You have absolutely no defense and they know they will get away with it.
They have 24/7 to sit there and watch you and plan their moves.

Today in Rosarito, they shot the dog too.

The photo is graphic...for sure, but the victims of this thread were close to an identical outcome.
Sometimes people need to be shocked into a full understanding of a matter and words alone will never illustrate the point as that photo does.
It may be vile, but it's everybody's reality. It's what we have to guard against.

I think the photo shows the reality of what can happen. The mordida that gets you out of a traffic ticket also lets others get away with this.It just
costs more.

Sorry if that a picture offended some. It is in the local Mexican newspapers. Anyone reading one would see it. So, I guess you can just NOT read the
news and remain in ignorant bliss.

In my mind... you have done us a favor.. you put a face on those numbers we see so often down here.. 19 killed.. 16 killed..

We are sheltered from the reality of life.. whether its the slaughtering of animals or people.. we choose not to watch.. we would prefer our reality
to be devoid of "images" which upset us..

Mexico news media does not filter "things" the same way it is done in the States... and good for them.. it is what is happening and what it "looks
like".. it is news, complete news .... it was published in a newspaper.. I thought

Condolences to the families of the victims ...

That is a ghastly sight but necessary to keep people on their toes. Who knows what the dead people did, if anything to get what is depicted. I'm sure
the dog did nothing. Rest in peace dog as you are innocent. To the two humans depicted, rest in peace also unless you too killed people. If so, burn
in hell. To the killers of these humans and animal may you also burn in hell! It’s easy to kidnap and kill when people are unarmed. Valientes! Si
Chuey como no!
