Sorry Doc------------"BLM" equals "Bureau of Land Management", (Dept. of Interior) which manages about a fifth of the United States total land area
(mostly in the west & Alaska), and much of the Deserts and foothill country of California.

Let's see...In 1975, I was still a teen in high school in a small town in No. California...Willits. My first trip to Baja was still 4 years
away....happy to say that I can no longer count how many trips I've made down since then.
Whenever I hear that rainy, chill wind blow. I think it may be time to head for Mexico. Tengo que obedecer mi corazon!

In 75 I had just started an electrical engineering job at Tektronix in Beaverton Oregon.
That winter we drove the newly paved Highway 1 to Cabo. Here is a picture of Lands End from the beach.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is an agency within the United States Department of the Interior that administers American public lands, totaling
approximately 247.3 million acres, or one-eighth of the landmass of the country.[1] The BLM also manages 700 million acres (2,800,000
km2) of subsurface mineral estate underlying federal, state, and private lands. Most public lands are located in western states, especially Alaska.
With approximately 11,600 permanent employees and close to 2,000 seasonal employees, this works out to over 21,000 acres (85 km2) per employee. The
