Oh, and the clean water comment above, what a joke that all you can do is repeat the lib sound bites. Nobody on the right wants dirty water, starving
people, or any of the other sound bites... we just know BIG government doesn't provide them... never has. There are more poor people because of
government spending and regulations then people who are no longer poor. It is just an excuse to suck away income and hire more government workers...
to the demise of America. |
So you're
suggesting that businesses will self regulate....yes, I'm sure all of those factories that were dumping sludge into the rivers were just about to quit
doing so just before the government told them not to......
Come on now David....maybe you should study a bit of history

In utopian society, people would self-regulate: eat less, exercise more, slow down, and share the road! Of course, we all know individuals lack
impulse control and moral compass, and a great many of us are selfish immoral opportunists. That's why we need government to control excesses of
greed, gluttony, pollution, wrath, murder, violence, etc.
Peace, love and fish tacos (and social order)!

And you would be absolutely correct, except that government is also made up people, who "lack impulse control and moral compass, and a great many of
us are selfish immoral opportunists"
When we assume that people in government are "better" than any of the rest of us, we are heading toward the cliff.
My humble opinion is that any of us, when presented with proper motivation, are capable of some pretty despicable actions.
It's bad enough when these despicable actions are played out in businesses and churches, but when they're played out within an niche that has access
to our tax system, our judicial system, and our well armed military that things get really, really scary.
I share your distrust of our species, I just don't think that the act of getting elected makes you all better.
I also, really, really like fish tacos!!
Now, back to bicycles and motor homes, and how they can occupy the same volume of space simultaneously.

That is fine with me if any of us can hit the breaks before we hit the bike, that we can't see on a mountain road, as we go around blind corners, at a
safe speed for automobiles. Some of you guys think we want to hurt people or drive dangerously?

Thankfully all of us in Baja are not in the Flash and Dash Mode when we travel in Baja. Personally if I don't get there today tomorrow will be just
fine as long as I get there in one piece

Dk, why don't you just slow the flock down? You are a flocking idiot to go speeding around blind corners. While you won't slow down for bikes, what
the flock will you do when you fly around the corner and meet a cow or rock in the road?
Slow down, share the road! Dont be an a$$hat!

The Time has Come ?
For Dash Cams ?
Knowing that your actions are being recorded would make MOST drive more carefully.
And, in the event a mishap is the other party's fault, provide a defense.
What could be wrong with that ?

Many bikers got cams, so bike hating nomads will get nabbed for manslaughter when they run down the biker. The burning question is will their Mexico
auto insurance cover their liability?

Is it correct that everyone on Mexican roads are required to have insurance? Not commenting on enforcement, but what the law says!

Just because it may not be a good idea does not mean it will not be fun!!!

There are some ballsy bike riders there.... I think the rule of thumb is don't outdrive the distance you can see to safely stop in.
I remember that from when I got my learner's permit.
Bikes aren't going away. It is what it is.
Deal. |
I haven't ridden that stretch of road but I have ridden around parts of Europe. Once, rode from Amsterdam to Paris. Many of the miles were on very
narrow roads. For the most part, the drivers were courteous and respectful. Much different vibe than riding on many roads in the States where people
feel they own the road....

External self-justification refers to the use of external excuses to justify one's actions. The excuses can be a displacement of personal
responsibility, lack of self-control or social pressures. External self-justification aims to diminish one's responsibility for a behavior and is
usually elicited by moral dissonance.
